Floss Conversion help needed

Hi all, A coworker's friend died recently and he had a number of projects in progress. My coworker told the family he'd finish them. One of the projects was a surface embroidery baby quilt, I think from Bucilla. In the chart there's a pale yellow with the number 6098. I can't find this on my conversion charts of DMC/Anchor/JP Coats. Anyone got any ideas what it might be? Or a DMC equivalent?

On a side note, the family just dumped all of his floss, some on slotted cardboard strips, into a couple of big bags and gave them to my coworker....what a mess trying to separate and sort them!!! There have to be at *least* 300 skeins there.

TIA. Joan

According to the Plaid website the DMC equivalent for 6098 is DMC 3770 but that looks more like a very pale tan rather than yellow to me.

lightest DMC yellow on my color chart is 3078 but it's an older chart and may not have all the newest colors on it. He might want to take the skein to a store and compare it directly to find the closest match. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Joan, don't the Dimensions colors come in the 6000s?? It seems to ring a bell. Sorry I haven't got time to research it right now, the turkey carcase soup is coming to the boil!!

Right about now, that sounds like a fun, mindless exercise that should be done on the living room floor, accompanied by a week's worth of Tivo'd "Clean Sweep" and "Clean House" episodes, with hot chocolate to drink.

Joan, Here is the conversion you requested: Bucilla 6098 = DMC 3770

In the future, you can calculate conversions for yourself using the following tools on my stitching site.

That was *very* helpful, Jeri! I printed up the conversion list for him in case he has any more problems. Thanks!

I'd add some peppermint schnapps to that hot chocolate! Cheryl

I finished my broth today. I'll skim it again tomorrow and go from there!

It must be some kind of soup virus that's going around. I made a pot of vegetable soup using the carcass. My grandmother, who wasted nothing, would be so proud of all of us.

My turkey carcase is in the stockpot too. I generally let it simmer a couple of days before I turn it into soup.

I was surprised to see aion has pulled the conversion charts and info sites off her site. She must have done this very recently. Dora

Oops, didn't transition well on this message--read it right after Cheryl's about peppermint schnapps and hot chocolate. Then again, maybe your mom is making that for supper as well tonight!

. We have a smoked turkey and I use the carcass and skin to make split pea soup - even the kids will eat it!

No, she knows better than to give me anything mint. It's one of her favorite flavors and she's always saying, "Just try it...you can hardly taste the mint!" To me, of course, that's the flavor that stood out the most. Yuck.

Well, I'm a committed teetotaler, but my favorite flavor with chocolate is orange.
