Frederick is finished!

Oh joy, I have finished Frederick the Literate! I am *so* sick of working on black. He is destined to be an end of school year gift for DS's teacher, so no hurry in getting to the framer. I'm just relieved to put the Mag-eyes away for a while.

It's fun to hear you and Pat talking about these patterns. I have these designs as collector plates, and have all 10 of them. When I look at them I will think of you both, and all the many colour changes there must be.

Oh, I found a set of coasters and table mats with Frederick on them! I`m just about Fredericked out! Maggie got hold of one and chewed it when she was a puppy, so I keep looking for replacements. I haven`t seen the collector plates though. In many ways I hope I don`t - my walls are overfilled anyway!

I got the place mats when I was in England about a year and a half ago. I can't recall where I found it though. It may have been in Worcestershire.

Maybe I will put it up for auction on the cross-stitch auction.

That is why I do put very little stuff on Ebay. Our Ebay here is 95% commercial Internet sales. The Quins auction is non-commercial. However, you have to find smeone who wants what you have to sell. There are no fees, and most of us charge straight postage; or very little handling. I WILL not charge a handling fee anywhere!

Congratulations! ! ! I did Frederick on black 28 ct. several years ago for our library's grand opening celebration. It was definitely a project best worked on during spring afternoons in natural daylight. He turned out wonderfully and looks just like Jasper Barcode Mouser, the cat who had permission to live in our old building when a terrible mouse problem was discovered. Jasper now lives happily on the librarian's property but she made up a photo page for patrons to keep up with him and we have "Frederick" on the wall to remind us of him as well. I got especially tired of the stripes in his fur - they were a real pain to keep up with while stitching. :-) I LOVE the way the project came out, though - it was worth every stitch and frogged stitch.

My next "work" project is Big Red Well Read Book and I may donate that to the school wine tasting/auction fund raiser next year. Liz from Humbug

Do they deal overseas? Our Ebay is very commercial these days, too.

I only charge straight postage, and I save large envelopes and small strong boxes (washing tablet boxes are really good!) so I only ask for a very small charge for packaging - a bit more when I have to actually BUY a box or padded envelope.

I sent a bunch of stuff to a girl in London. I just "held" her various winnings in a flat-rate envelope, and kept a running total. When Maureen was ready, I packaged it all up, she paid me by Paypal ( Echeck only, no credit/debit cards), and I sent off the packet. It worked well for us. I guess it is up to each individual seller, just like Ebay. Probably wise to email the seller first, before bidding. However, if they don't want to, then you can always use my address!!
