holbein charts

Help Help am looking for Holbein charts. Was told in Hobbycraft that they are out of fashion and that they do not do them hmmm. Wanted tp get Tudor and Elizabethan figures if possible. thankyou margaret

Hobbycraft may not be making/carrying them anymore, but there's plenty of charts out there. You might find more patterns if you look for "blackwork" rather than "holbein".

New Stitches (a UK mag) had a series of Tudor/Elizabethan charts out. They were available as separate charts at one point. I don't know if they still are.

Leon Conrad has a lot of Eliabethan/Jacobean style blackwork charts

Laura J Perin has a series of Jacobean inspired florals for blackwork, although they're often shown in color.

There's lots more out there. Look at and search on blackwork. That will give you some idea of what's out there.

are some other English companies, I will look them up when Iget a chance . New stitches had a couple of lovely designs from effigy stones. Sounds morbid but one in particular was stunning. "a knight and his lady" from the 14th century. I did it for my daughter so can email you a photo if you like Ruby
