I honestly don`t think I`d be all that bad! Truly! I have plenty of patience and persistence when I need it. Like a couple of days ago when I slid down into a seemingly impossible position in a low, sloping roofed cupboard in the loft and got well and truly stuck amongst all the carefully stacked junk in there! As you know, John is VERY deaf and having fallen asleep had switched his hearing aids off and so couldn`t hear my yells - and I didn`t even have anything to READ, Despite all our books being up in the loft - I could SEE them, but not reach them!
I just had to tell myself not to panic - he`d come looking for me in a couple of hours or so when he woke up and missed me (and needed his cup of tea!). Anyway, with a lot of wriggling and swearing I managed to crawl out!!! I was just grateful that no large spiders appeared at the time - then I WOULD have lost it!!!
That was the reason we bought the bath lift, because one day I sat for two hours in cooling water (I`d emptied the hot tank) trying to make John hear me, and I just could NOT get out (As well as my usual problems I had a bad back at the time - which was the main reason I was soaking in a hot bath in the first place!). I could see the funny side on both occasions, thank goodness.
I can`t get out unless John or Jane take me - apart from a short walk (as long as there`s not a cold wind).
