Cell phone tags

I have been having a grand time making beaded tags/identifiers/ jewellery for cell phones. Took them to work, showed them how they work, listened to all the stories about grabbing the wrong phone by mistake and what great stocking fillers they made and sold several.

So, took them to an informal family dinner last night and no one could guess their purpose. We had a hilarious time with guesses ranging from wine glass charms, to belly button dangles.to earrings ( one relation looped two over her ears and paraded around) Key ring jewellery or zip pulls were mentioned but no one guessed cell phone cords. We put one on a cell phone and then they all wanted one. My niece thought I was the coolest, up to date Aunt!! I would not have known about then if my daughter had not bought one in Japan.

Guess the moral of the story is sometimes we have to demonstrate how a product is used.

I have a cell phone, and I've heard about these "jewelry items" for cell phones, but I can't figure out where they're supposed to go? My phone doesn't seem to have any kind of hole or loop or whatever.......... Where do they go.....????

I couldn't find anything for the longest time, then I really started examining the darn thing :) On one corner at the top is a little cutout kind of area, the kind where you'd attach a fabric wristband-type strap, like on a camera.

I thought the same thing. Mine doesn't have anything I could attach something to. I do have a handy-dandy holder for it that my 11 yr. old kitted for me though! :)

I have a Motorola Razr and it has a slot at the hinge for a handle that could be used for phone jewelry. In the past, I have had Nokia phones which also have a tiny slot near the top corner for a strap. As noted by the previous poster, the slot is hard to find, and, unfortunately, not all phones have one.

I have been examining phones closely, mine is an older model but most have two small slots, you slide the tag through and loop it over itself. 9 out of ten phones have them, they go into the casing rather than a sticking out loop. The brighter the bead colour the easier to find the phone in a bag.

Just checked my LG and found one, hidden by part of the case. Hadn't even noticed it before... Hmmmm I really don't like using the clip on mine but it is small enough to wear on a lanyard...

Yeah, I seem to have one of those unfortunate phones. Oh, well.

LOL - I call them cell phone charms, but they really are kind of multi-purpose! I bring my phone along and show people mine so they know what I am talking about. :)

Yeah, some phones don't have the little strap loop on top.
