How many projects in your closets?

Nov 18, 2006 60 Replies

Let me recover from this week and I'll let you know... But I think you're on, but please I'd rather you alive and kicking... C

Mine is so past hurting it's hit forgetful. I recently made some major finds when I consolidated my craft areas into one location. I'd completely forgot about the DMC purse, coin bag and cosmetics bag I picked up in Portugal a year ago. I can see forgetting things I've had for years, but not from that recently.

Well............I have a humungously huge stash. I will never be able to complete it all in 100 lifetimes much less the one lifetime I've already halfway used up. LOL, when I go it's all going with me! I am pretty good about finishing things although certain projects spend a longer time than other projects in the WIP box. I used to be one of those stitchers who would complete an entire project before starting another one. That was before I joined this group! Now, I've learned among other things, that if you're tired of working on something it's OK to start something new. There are no finish rules!

I can honestly say there are no projects in my closets. But then, I have never stored them there. Now if you want to ask how many are in progress or in the planning stages or in rotation or lots of other things --- that's a whole new matter.

I can honestly say there are no craft projects waiting in closets to be finished. LOL! ...they are all in the laundry room. However, I am not enumerating them, because then I won't be able to justify buying more stash.

I have four file drawers of charts, a shelf of magazines, two large drawers of fabric, probably a small drawer of kits, and a huge Xmas tree box of excess DMC. Five darice boxes of rolled DMC, four Watchmaker boxes of beads ( plua a bunch of extras) The overdyes and silks are miostly hanging on hooks inside the closet door. I am 70. Do you think I have too much??????????????

One can never have too much - of anything lol

What you need to do is load all that up in your RV and head straight for Kansas City. Teegs and I will divvy it up between us and you can go about the rest of your RV'ing without all that nasty stuff taking up precious space!

NO!

She's headed here, where Bobbie, Elizabeth, Margaret, Evelyn and I can paw through it!

Cheryl

RV and head straight for

Hey - she has to come through Columbia first - I'll be happy to help her sort through it before sending her your way!

Linda

NEVER! And you sound so organized. But, you could keep going until you're

80!

There are projects in the living room, the dining room, the chair, my bedroom, in the basement/garage closet and the "loft area". However, there are none in the laundry room, though there are other craft supplies there.

hello iam gowri a new entrant in this group. iam from chennai India .your query was interesting .In my dresser draw ihave acounted thread cushion cover ,axss stitch wall hanger , acrochet round table cver , two sarees tobe embroidered ababy quilt ,a hardanger runner a floorcushion the list is endless.iam busy with so many things in hand most of these projects travelwith me , hoping iwould get time to finish them away from home.iam unable to be parted from them lest some harm shld waylay them.these projects are touchy topics at home.hope someone understands.bye for now .

I pretty much only do one at a time and don't kit up the next until that one's done. Except, of course, the ever-present "this friend is having a baby so must do one for her/this friend is getting married so must get something done for him/oops! Sister's b-d is coming up" kind of interruption.

I *won't* count patterns in the 2 file drawers of my cabinet! :)

Joan

I have a full box of patterns, a shawl I'm working on in lace, a tatted grape pair of earings in the works, crocheted grape hot pot pads in the works, a granny square crochet blanket in the works, three velveteen bras in the works.

Wow, I have more than I thought.

The only reason my projects aren't in lots of other places is that the condo is just barely 1100 sq ft. In the previous condo, they were in closets, the basement, the living room.

Yes, we definitely understand! I have some out-of-print kits that are going out the door with me in case of fire.

Welcome to the group.
