JCS ornament issue finishes

Last week I was bellyaching about not feeling focused on my needlework, with too many things started. Well, in the past few days I've finished a couple of the ornaments from this year's JCS issue:

The Brittercup poinsettia design, done in gloriana silks.

The Nordic Needle Hardanger-type ornament, done in those same Gloriana silks...three of them! They work up quickly and look so impressive, but they're quite simple!

Also finished stitching:

"Woodpecker" ornament from an old Prairie Schooler "woodland Christmas" chart

Still in progress:

Moose ornament from the same PS chart (above)

Eiffel tower ornament from this year's JCS.

So I'm getting a handle on things! Now I just have to *assemble* them all!

I finished "Be Merry", but adapted it to needlepoint - fuzzy stuff beard and white on hat, very velvet hat, perle cotton for face glasses, etc. Skipped the top part and am calling it "Groucho Santa" instead - gift for my bil who collects Santas!

I did the Loopy Lou ornament. I used Vikki Clayton silks and it worked up very quickly. Thinking of doing more. Oh, and I used a grey instead of a white and some slate colored beads.

That sounds adorable! Now I have to go look up the "Be Merry" and "Loopy Lou" photos!

I just finished that one, too, and I used Wisper for the beard and hat. I've never used Fuzzy Stuff before. Is it much different from Wisper?

Not really - I actually find it a bit easier to work with. Also has sparkles in it, which I find to be very Christmas-y :)
