Map of Needlework Shops in US

This doesn't seem to have ALL the shops, but it's a good start, and there is a link where you can add shops you know of.

Thanks Carolyn,

This will help me see if there are any on our holiday route. Very helpful!

There used to be a Ruth's Stitchery on Carefree, 1 block right off North Academy. Frances

Well, if you head toward New Hampshire or Massachusetts, give a holler!

We're heading up through the western part of Massachusetts, then through Vermont to Quebec (and then back again by a slightly different route).

Any suggestions of good places along the way?

Deerfield MA for Deerfield embroidery is a main focus.

Might be worth going a bit out of your way to hit A World in Stitches off of 495 in Littleton, MA. They have some very nice fabric and great threads.

Just rechecked the map and I have to say that of all the needlework shops I have been in, Thistle Needleworks in Glastonbury CT is the most amazing and would seem to be well within your line of travel.

Oooo, you could plan a whole trip going up 91 and coming back on 93 and just shop hopping the whole way.

I'm sorry, I think I may have misled you... We'll be flying into NY, then catching the train up to Albany. We will pick up the car there and drive to Deerfield MA then head up through Vermont to Quebec.

So, no CT in the travel plans. We'll be only in the very western parts of MA as well. Sorry to disappoint...!

The idea of stopping off at needlework shops was just an afterthought to the whole holiday plans. I just hoped that there might be some along the way that we could happily drop in to. My two year old daughter is a bit too grabby-handed to want to make the whole holiday a needlework shop crawl! And certain other members of the family (ie all of them!) might find it slightly more dull than me... :-)

But thanks for getting excited about the possibilities for me!
