I've loved looking at Monsterbubbles website, but haven't found her (Heather Holland-Daly) charts anywhere in Canada. So when I saw she had done a book, Stitch Graffiti, I ordered sight unseen. Got it now, and it is really a fun book. The colours and designs are contemporary and fun. She uses lots of hand-dyed and sampler threads but provides DMC alternatives. One thing I like are a number of small designs she calls "tattoos" which are suitable for doing on a shirt with waste canvas or on a patch to be stitched to a garment or accessory. Any stitcher looking for quirky stuff, or with a sense of humour, would like Monsterbubbles stuff. Some of the smaller stuff would be ideal for a new stitcher, particularly a younger or fairly hip one.
