Monsterbubbles--cool new book

I've loved looking at Monsterbubbles website, but haven't found her (Heather Holland-Daly) charts anywhere in Canada. So when I saw she had done a book, Stitch Graffiti, I ordered sight unseen. Got it now, and it is really a fun book. The colours and designs are contemporary and fun. She uses lots of hand-dyed and sampler threads but provides DMC alternatives. One thing I like are a number of small designs she calls "tattoos" which are suitable for doing on a shirt with waste canvas or on a patch to be stitched to a garment or accessory. Any stitcher looking for quirky stuff, or with a sense of humour, would like Monsterbubbles stuff. Some of the smaller stuff would be ideal for a new stitcher, particularly a younger or fairly hip one.

Ah, Dawne - wish I'd known. My shop-owner is a big fan, and at times I feel as if we're the east coast distributor for Monster Bubbles. If you want any charts, send me a note at my shop e-mail addy: snipped-for-privacy@scarletthread.com

We just charge the actual postage - and also do give guild members 10% discount! It is a cool book - we got it several weeks ago.

Can you procure the Witch Hat charts? I think at one time they could only be had directly from Monsterbubbles. Dawne

Dawn, I'll take a look. Seriously, we have a ton of Monsterbubbles in the shop - some old. And just got more. Will let you know - probably from my work mail (I'm cc'ing this to that).

Personally, I'm not a huge MB fan, but as I said, the owner and one of her stitch pals are quite addicted. Though, I do like the punnish ones. We've been selling a lot of "Grey Matter" and "Think outside the Box" lately.

Hello girls. If Ellice can't help you get the Witch hats, let me know. I have 9 at least of them left and can get the other three. I also still have some of the kits left with the frame, chart, fabric and thread that I will sell you for super cheap! Glad you like the book, Denise. Please let me know if you ever need anything. Just email me directly! Glad your shop like monsterbubbles! WHAT shop is it Ellice? I do have some really loyal monsterbubbles shop owners out there! Makes up for all of them who still think my stuff is too "wild"?! ha! All this and more........... Heather

Hi Heather,

I'm not sure if we have the Witch Hats still in - but Dawne sent to me at my work e-mail, and when I'm back in the shop on Tuesday, will find out. Anyhow, we're off to this GetAway - any moment now - and when I'm back, you may well hear from us if we need to get anything - we just had gotten some charts recently.

I'm the manager at Scarlet Thread in Vienna, VA. But, I don't ever want to cross the lines to be construed as advertising on RCTN. Though, I will say several of our crew have come in to visit the shop when in the DC area. Nope, your stuff definitely isn't too wild for us. As with all designers, it's finding the right mix which our customers will like and stitch, regardless of what the owner and I may like - or not - in some cases. Honestly, if we both really dislike something - we won't get it - even if it's something that would sell - perhaps stupid, but - we have to live with it.

Dawn, your email is blocked out here, can't see it. Here are mine, heather @ monsterbubbles . com OR monsterbubbles @ hotmail. com OR singtoyou @ msn. com try any of these, ok?! Have NO idea why emails are bouncing. I get messages occassionally that they are. No one can figure out why. ANYHOW if I don't hear from you at one of those places in a day or so, I will get back on here.

Thanks Heather
