I've started teaching a 9 year old neighbor to cross stitch. It's one of her home schooled projects. I chose a beginner kit from Dimensions and by the project end she will know cross stitch, back stitch and french knots.
In her first row of stitching she pierced the fabric so I had her frog to the error and correct. I also started her off with the loop start which isn't in the directions. She appears to be very patient person - definitely a plus!
As I've not done this before and I'm far from "professional" myself, if any of you have any tips or hints from experience, I'm all ears.
