Which Royal Guild book? The green RSN one? Good for you - I'll be pointing DH to a source for the Proper Stitch. And the nice knitting needles I want.

But, he's done really well on the jewelry front, so I'm a happy camper - and he knows about the upcoming S.E.X. Venture.

It's a great book. And has an excellent section on Goldwork - so I was told by the instructors who convinced me to buy it. You'll definitely love it and use it.

Yes! And The Proper Stitch is well worth the price.

Anything DH couldn't mail order was out of the question.

I wish I could find a gold work "beginner's kit". It makes my mouth water.

What - so I can drool some more?

Actually, I've been trying to figure out a mini vacation for me, sans husband and children. So Halifax, Florida, California or the DC area?

Thank you Gillian, I confess I came late to it and love it. I just finished doing a goldwork key to insert on a green silk box that I gave to my daughter for her birthday. I put it up on rctnp.

My biggest problem is that I have no more wall space, no more room for cushions so pretty much anything that I make, goes to other people. I do sometimes think of making a hardanger table cloth or place mats, I have seen some pretty ideas and they are useful.

You would always be most welcome here Cheryl and the bonus is, we have no LNS in the near vicinity, so we're cheap too lol

You are always welcome here, too........even though we do use the RV as a guest-house! We DO have an LNS in Lakeland, and another about an hour away in Mt Dora, a quaint town.

Keep checking the ANG site. Michelle Roberts - who is a phenomenal talent and instructor - sometimes does one on the correspondence classes. Of course, you'd have to give in and join ANG, but....

I know she's taught one regularly at the National Seminars, and sometimes at regional - you could check it out. I was registered for a great one with her a couple of years back, but had to cancel out. No opportunity since then. IIRC - I think Carleen Hardwick teaches one at times, and I know that Shay Pendray does lots of classes which will include goldwork.

I did a Japanese embroidery class some years back that included some metalwork. But, would like to do a real class myself, sometime.

Well, you know you're welcome here anytime. Just what's your mode of transport, and how much time are you giving it, and of course, what kind of weather and amusements! I'm sure we'll all keep you well fed - I can at least promise a guest room with attached bath, the dog maybe (hah) saying good morning, and if you miss the smell of hockey gear - well you can just visit the Rec Room level. And there's a nice, big double sheet only 5 miles away. And, depending on when - there's always a chance to see the CAPS and Alex.

Of course, the locals - well we could arrange an LNS tour. And a stitch session hanging out here - I should've cleaned the house by then.

Sounds really nice.

Have you thought about doing the display with framed pieces as in galleries

- where they are kind of stacked in front of each other. You could do it on a ledge/shelf, and then rotate them.... Just a thought.
