Christmas Morning

Hello All,

It's Christmas Morning here in Melbourne. We've been having lovely, soaking rain overnight, which is just what we need.

I hope you all enjoy whatever you do today.

Bye for now.

It's only 10 pm Xmas Eve here but I am very happy to hear you have rain. We have a green Christmas in store but to tell the truth I am not sorry about that, I don't like my family slip sliding around to get here on ice or snow. All the best.

3 am Christmass morning. Attended the 1130 pm candle-lit kirk service where the music was provided by the school orchestra assisted by yours truly on the organ. Have just had a pleasant drink with Maureen and now off to bed for a nap before getting ready for the 11 pm Christmass Day kirk service. Lovely evening, almost clear skies, no wind, no rain, not quite mild but no frost or fog. Spent the afternoon on Eday playing for their 2 pm carol service. Merry Christmass to all readers where ever you are.

It's a beautiful night er morning with clear crisp -3ºC temp. Clear sky but light polution from the city lights makes star gazing almost impossible.

And it's 7:30 AM here, so we're not quite thinking about breakfast yet.

Well, I suppose I AM *thinking* about it, but haven't yet gotten motivated to get up and fix it.

Rainy, rainy here in northwest Louisiana. We're waiting for the grandkids to get back from their dad's to have Christmas around noon with all of us.

I feel so blessed to have all my family around me. I wish for all of you the same -- and peace.

Bit slow getting back to the group, so it's mid-afternoon Boxing Day now. The cricket's on downstairs, but I'm not watching. Plenty to go over the next few days.

The house is quite cold today after all the rain yesterday. I'm tempted to turn a heater on. I can easily rug up, but it's not so easy for the cats.

Has all the fog disappeared over there, Pat? I'll bet that messed up a few people's plans.

Bye again.

Not sure about Pat's area of the southern bit of the UK but up here no sign of fog and several glorious, sunny days with no sign of wind and very little rain. Still cool at 9C during the day, 5C at night, but quite bearable! The media in the UK are primarily London-based and always seem to think that if London has weather problems then this is a BIG news story. The fact that the most of the UK is unaffected seems to pass them by, un-noticed.

Had two days of dull grey weather here in Derbyshire. Low cloud ceiling. No sun at all. Shirley

Yes, the fog and frost have gone now, thank goodness - it`s just damp and dull. Fine for curling up in the warm and reading or watching tv! We`re not cooking a proper meal today - I`ve just been popping lots of different party nibbles in the oven. When we`re hungry we`ll just fill a plate of whatever we fancy. As it`s just John and I, I have a supply of paper plates - no washing up!!!

The rest of yesterday`s roast beef is all sliced and packed in the freezer - enough for five more good sized meals.

Happy Boxing day!

Not really, Bruce - there has been a LOT on the news about the wet conditions in Scotland, Northern England and Wales. We`re fortunate here in East Anglia - our area is always much drier than the rest of the country. We`ve just been dull and foggy here - I wish we`d had your sunshine, though. No doubt our turn will come!

We had a very green Christmas here in Ontario - usually have lots of snow. My VDH gave me "In Praise of the Needlewoman" about which I had been hinting, and astounded me with a pearl necklace.

MargW who does indeed have a wonderful DH
