Sunday Morning

Good Morning to you all, It is about 60F here today. We have been lucky that our weather has been mild so far.

I just popped in to read before I started cleaning today. Didn't get it done yesterday since I was babysitting with my DGC.

My son will go back to school this afternoon so we need to get his laundry packed up that he brought home to wash.

I just finished a scarf yesterday for my DD. It is made from Lion Brand Chenille and it is very soft. This was the second time that I made it since I frogged the first one that I didn't like the drape of. Now I have 1 skein left and am wondering if I can make a hat. I will be looking for a pattern that starts at the crown so I can just knit till I run out of yarn and she can turn up the brim how ever much there is. Opinions? Pattern Suggestions?

Darlene, Good luck with the surgery tomorrow. Please have DH post and let us know how you are.

Just a quick note to wish everyone a good Sunday. It's 12:20 am here and I am sitting reading messages as the pain is too bad for me to sleep right now.

Only one more day before surgery. :)

It's 10.36am here in Loughborough and is quite chilly!

I've just popped in to see if I can try and catch up a bit more with hte newsgroup posts as I'm behind again.

I started crocheting a mobieus last night so I might get the fire burning and spend the afternoon finishing that off later.

Good luck to you. Darlene!!!!

It is a relatively cold day here too!

Yesterday night we had a very nice evening withe sister-& brother-in-law who came here for "lutefisk" dinner. As it is the first week-end in advent , it is nice to "celebrate" it with a good talk a relaxing "canlelight-dinner" (LOL, "It's the Lady Of The House speeking", but my name is NOT Bouquet!!)

Today we will take a trip to town to see the Cristmas- market in the only street which survived the big fire in 1904; Many of the old wooden houses, are used by artists, and it is a vey nice event.

At home I am knitting a sweather for DS, and have bad consious for the Christmas preparation I have not started on ;-)

Have a nice sunday, all of you! Higs, AUD ;-)

Good morning from Connecticut, USA at 8:35 a.m.. It's a beautiful sunny day, on the cold side, but that's to be expected - it's almost December. During the week we're supposed to be back up into the 60's !

I'm working on my Shawl of Many Colors, and I do enjoy crocheting with all the colors, after that stretch of the beige afghan.

I hope everybody has a nice Sunday !

Bye for now,

Here it's 1.55 pm and I'm having a break from writing Christmas cards, and since that's the first thing I've done in getting ready for Christmas (except for a little light knitting/crochet) I'm feeling seriously underprepared. I wrote card and present lists yesterday, so I'm now up and running though!! It's a chilly overcast day here, so staying in and doing cards is a good excuse to not get cold! I'm so sorry the pain is so bad Darlene> Jus think that by Monday evening although you'll have post-op pain all the original pain will be gone, and the post-op pain goes quite quickly. Think positive. Looking forward to hearing from you again when you're feeling up to it

Hey you guys:>)

Thought I'd pop in & for once get it on these Sunday catch ups:>)

Darlene, I'm not sure what surgery you are having, I've really been out of the loop:>( Is it for your CTS? Prayers are with you .

Sounds like everyone is busy with Christmas gifts on the go. I on the other hand have had a selfish knitting year! I am on sweater # 3 for, you guessed it, ME!(LOL) Not sure why I decided to focus on me for a change, but what the heck!

Lot's of changes to report actually. I left Maggie's almost 2 months ago to pursue other options. It was a tough decision, I had been there for 6 years, but just needed a change. I love what I'm doing right now. it's at a call center, but it's strictly in bound & just customer service, no selling:>)

Actually a bit of sad news too. Maggie's is shutting down after 22 years in business:>( I knew it was coming, but it was still such a heartbreak when I went in for a visit & saw the sign on the door.

Well, on a happier note, I finally started my Christmas shopping on Friday! I've never been so late in getting started! But bow that I started, I don't want to stop!! Gotta stay away from that mall until next payday!!(LOL)

Well, I'm off to enjoy my day off with hubby & housework!:>)

Good to be back(again):>)

Hi Carol,

I don't know if these patterns are any good to you, but from what I gather (since I searched under "From the top down knitted hats") these are from the top down. So hopefully they will help.

Good sunny morning everyone,

It's about 11:30 here in cold upstate NY. The sun is shining and as Rusty said it's going to get warmer every day, in fact by Tues. the four inches of snow will be just a memory, thank goodness.

I've been working on the wagon wheel shawl and have the main color of the squares done, it's going to be pink with a round of antique white, now to start assembling it. Yes, it's a Christmas gift so have to keep working away at it so I can get back to the afghans that I'm working on.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, and Trish it was great to see you here.

Darlene, you know my thoughts and prayers are with you for your thumb surgery in less then twenty-four hours.

Hugs,

Nora

I haven't been outside yet, but it looks milder... the snow in the parking lot beside us has melted... but now it's starting to rain a little (just a sprinkle so far). Due to back problems that have been ongoing since he started working at Zellers (bending, stooping, lifting, etc), Matthew has had to quit that part-time job. Unfortunately for him, bad backs run in our family (both my parents had bad backs, and I do too). Thank goodness he is starting back to the call centre job tomorrow, where he will be sitting most of the time... although when he worked there before he had to often stand up and move a bit to avoid backaches setting in.

He still eventually wants to get back into Cabinetmaking... but he figures when he does that he will be on his own time (his own business that he is hoping for) so if he *needs* to sit to give his back a rest from time to time, he can without jeopardizing his job.

And... still considering that I got the good news from the mortgage guy yesterday... we still have a month to catch up on other things before worrying too much about the mortgage.

One step forward, two (1 1/2) steps back. *shrug*

"a relaxing "canlelight-dinner" (LOL, "It's the Lady Of The House speeking", but my name is NOT Bouquet!!"

Isn't it fun - we watch those British tv comedies too - and so we have an international chuckle. The world is certainly getting smaller. By this time next week I will be in Israel. I hope to talk to Mirjam by phone and meet a friend of hers at a knitting group meeting in Jerusalem. RCTY bridges oceans!

Nice to see you again, Trish. I am sorry that Maggie's closed down, but glad that you moved before it happened. Come in and visit more often.

It's just past 3:00 in the afternoon of a very dark, gloomy day. The rain and warmer air has melted most of our snow from Friday. I'm taking a break from knitting today and have started sewing a flannel robe that I cut out several weeks ago.
