Afghan finally done

Nov 02, 2005 9 Replies

Well I did it and finished my nephew's afghan. Yes thanks to DH who helped me sew in the ends on the 96 squares I was able to join the squares and tonight finished the border.

I know I am going to suffer with the pain in the hand after this but at least I now know that the afghan is completed and ready for Christmas.

DH is a little upset with me tonight because I did work on the afghan for probably too long but at least it's now done and I don't have to worry about it.

Now I will only work on small projects until after my surgery. I realize that I am not going to be able to continue doing projects much longer but at least now I know my recovery will be better because I don't have to finish the afghan for Christmas.

Thanks to everyone here that was backing me and supporting me while I worked on the afghan. Also thanks to the one's that sent me e-mails offering to assist in getting this afghan done.

Time now to give my hand some rest but know that I am reading each day and wish I could post more than I do.

Darlene, congratulations on finishing the afghan. Since I just finished mine, I know what a wonderful freeing feeling it is to have it over and done with.

Yours was certainly a different situation than mine, and I'm sorry to read that you are suffering for it now.

Give your hand a good rest, and relax knowing that the Christmas afghan is done.

Congrats on finishing the afghan. It is good to have it all done, as you say, you won't have the pressure of getting it done for Christmas. You'll need your time to recover, so please don't over do. I hope things go well for you and you heal quickly and completely. Marie and the cats

Darlene, Please know that ... FIRST: congrats on finishing !!! but, more IMPORTANTLY: please know that I'll be thinking of you and keeping you in my heart and prayers during your surgery and ultimate FULL recovery! Hugs, Noreen

Glad to hear that you have the afghan finished for Christmas, and that you can now rest your hand for surgery. Good luck with that... I wish you a speedy recovery.

Darlene, I'm happy for you that you were able to complete a large project despite the pain. Your determination is admirable.

Hi Darlene,

Yes, now you can relax for the next few weeks and just think of all the projects you'll be able to do next year.

Hugs,

Nora

Hi

I just wanted to say Thanks to everyone for their messages.

Yes I was determined to get it done before the surgery but am very glad that it's done. Now to try and behave myself and try and relax for the next three weeks before surgery. Wish i could lose myself in crafts but admit that the pain won't let me do that.

I will be reading each day but won't be posting much as the pain is really getting to me. I am still working each day and will up until the 25th of November just three days before surgery.

Thanks for the support and knowing that I have friends all around the world thinking about me and hoping for a successful surgery.

I promise to let everyone know how the surgery goes. Either me, DH or Nora will post a message.

Now time to go and shed more tears due to the pain.

Hoping you'll be pain free very soon!

Liz
