Need buttons for kit!

Mar 19, 2005 3 Replies

Hello all - Hope someone might be able to help. I just finished stitching Twisted Threads' "Itty Bitty Trio of Pumpkins" - finally!! Now the fun part of attaching the wool felt pumpkins and embellishments. But nooooo....after working on this kit off and on for a year I've found that while I have the silk ribbon, I no longer have the little bag with the specialty buttons!! While I'm sure I could find replacements for the small round button and the heart button, I doubt I can find two little pumpkin stem buttons.

I've sent an email to Twisted Threads in hopes they can help as I couldn't find an internet site for Button Frenzy in Norfolk, VA, who they've listed as the supplier of these. Does anyone here know of a way to contact the button company? Or better yet, does someone have a LNS that still carries this kit?

Thanks in advance!

Could you embroider something on there that looks like a stem? Or paint a tiny elbow macaroni piece and glue it on? val

Another option if you can't find the buttons you need would be to make your own from FIMO clay or some similar product. It should not be too difficult to come up with something that looks like a stem. When you make your own you could poke a hole in them so they could be stitched on.

Thanks for the suggestions all -

I've figured I could also use the brown silk ribbon in the kit to stitch up a stem if necessary....it's just the anal-retentive part of my personality that's stressing over losing the little things after keeping track of them for so long - I just was looking at the buttons in the last month or so !

Thanks - MelissaD
