Hey, you could do it in shades of white - using some lovely overdyed that you no doubt have in stash. And then you could do the edges in an irregular of some color - as in the lovely photo that IIRC Brenda posted.

OOOOOOO -- Now THAT idea has loads of potential! The designs are
*supposed* to be done on banding but, since I can operate the sewing machine just a bit, I can stitch them on whatever fabric I want and then do something fancy to the edges :-)! Methinks I shall have to invest in some sort of greenish hand dyed fabric. Since all the designs have leaves, green works -- it IS Mother Nature's neutral color. CiaoMeow >^;;^<
