So, I don't think I mentioned that we have a new LNS and it's only about 25 minutes away from home!!! It is called The Stitch Store and the Grand Opening was on 04 January. Four od us went that day and had a wonderful time and one of my friends even one one of the door prizes! Three of us went back yesterday as I needed to get a few bit & bobs so that I could change colors on one of my projects. I did get the few things I needed (tiny buttons, some Kreinik #4 braid, skein of silk floss) but the BEST thing was this chart I fell in love with. It's from Victoria Sampler and it's called Bee lace Sampler

One of the friends -- Juliete, who is relatively new to cross stitch -- was looking at the chart and wondered *where* the cross stitch was! I looked more closely at the chart and told her there wasn't any cross stitch. There is Hardanger and silk ribbon embroidery and surface embroidery and stumpwork and pulled work but not one cross stitch :-). That's likely what drew me to the design. The bumble bee is done in Turkey Work and is absolutely darling -- all fuzzy and cute. The wings are stumpwork done with shimmery ribbon and the flowers are SRE with Kreinik #4 gold for the stems & leaves. It's just beautiful and really spoke to MOI. I decided that, since I won't spend the $$$ to get that Oriental Bell Pull with the Geisha and Fujiama I would treat myself to just this chart. I have everything I need to stitch it so it's gonna be great!!!
