First, some one stole the wheels/axle from my garbage can. I can survive with out them but come on folks..
Second, after many years of sitting there, a plastic bottle of wheel cleaner decides to leak. I got soaked in the stuff cleaning up. Twice
Finally, not only does DD get a cold/virus last night, today, after seeing "urgent care" (the cough sounds worse than it really is), she tossed her cookies in the back seat of the truck.
SIGH!
And I can not stitch to the sound track of cartoons.
The missing wheels just annoy the piss out of me. The wheel cleaner - I'm viewing it as one more thing out of the house and GONE. DD is feeling much perkier. May she'll go to school tomorrow. Good, since I think I have it now....
I can certainly see how having the wheels stolen could send me over the edge at the wrong time. Yes, I realize it's minor, but also very annoying.
And, yes, life is pretty good now.
DH and I finally got our vacation in HI. I'm convinced that if there is a God, She lives in Maui. DH started a faculty position earlier this summer, while I just started graduate school (again). And my best friend is just a 3-hour drive south, closer than we've been in years! So, a large portion of our life is very good right now.
Moving to a new country is just full of annoying little differences that really started grating on my nerves this summer. Most of those are behind us now, so no worries.
But in between the really good things happening, we had a few awful things happen. We unexpectedly sent 2 of our pets over the rainbow bridge, and w/in a month of not-so-unexpectedly losing my DMIL to breast cancer. And our condo in MA had an offer fall through, so it's still on the market. Having to pay 2 mortgages is quite simply tough. But at least we are able to pay them, I know that too many people are not that fortunate.
I guess we just take the bad with the good and manage as best we can. Stitching certainly helps, eh?
My best friend is in Calgary (which you probably guessed), and Red Deer makes a nice stop along the way. Or meeting place if we don't want to stay the night.
Why not buy a splitter for the jack? I used to have to need two sets of headphones plugged into one jack for work and always keeping a splitter or two in my workbox was mighty useful. Radioshack or Walmart ought to carry them.
I'm definitely going to have headphones and a splitter when it's my time to have kidlets.
I can't stitch with cartoons on, either... Becky A.
You poor old thing! I`m just waiting for the weather to cool down so I can start sending chocolate packages to those "in need!" LOL! We have a heatwave starting tomorrow, from all accounts. Anyway, chocolate seems to make you cough even more, I find.
Glad to hear that DD is getting better - and you, Madam - just take care of yourself!
I finally had to go to the doctor with cystitis the other day - talk about a miracle worker - I was much better the next day after taking the tablets! I do wish I hadn`t kept putting off going! By the time I got there I had convinced myself that it was something FAR more serious. When you feel like that DON`T do a Google search - you`ll scare yourself even more!!!
For future reference: I'm certain you can get a splitter. If you don't mind shelling out a bit more, you could also go for wireless headphones where you can "connect" multiple headphones to one device.
Congartulations on your new pseudonym When i worked in the Kibboestz hen houese we had a big mother hen whom we called Matilda ,, and a Cock we called Goliath ,,,

Goodness. With all the running around you do with hockey practices, I wish it could be sooner for you!!
Thanks!
We're not quite to the point (yet) where we want to deal with renters from ~2500 mi away. Though, that point may be arriving quickly. Hopefully, it will just sell soon, and we won't have to deal with it any longer.
Me too. And the other lovely stitchers in the area.
Poor baby. This morning, as we were getting ready to leave my cousin's beach house - I hear a terrible, bumping, thumping noise coming from the vicinity of stairs. Rushing over - thinking what the heck - to see DH in the fetal position on the landing. Evidently the normally extremely well coordinated DH slipped on the top step, and was so worried about spilling the glass of water he was carrying that he just continued to go on down - doing the duck & cover - and hitting his bumm on all 9 steps. Thankfully, he only got some rug burn on his back & shoulder, and a whopping, huge bruise on the goalie-butt. He thinks that all those squats saved him from a broken hip or tail bone - but it sure swells kind of funny.
End result - I had to drive all the way home, he's a bit uncomfy, embarrassed, and I've threatened to slap an ice pack on the affected cheek!
Hope the little one is feeling better soon - and you can at least relax a bit.
Poor man - Jane (younger daughter) did exactly the same thing a couple of months ago, and bruised her coccyx (tailbone) She was in a lot of pain for some time until we bullied her inti seeing the doctor, but she`s OK now. Needed one of those "doughnut" type cushions for a few weeks.
As she landed at the foot of the stairs the parrot looked at her and said "You TWIT!"
Thanks for the hope. DH appreciates such. I know it pains him in all senses of the word - to have been "injured" in such a way. And with me doing the medic thing - well, he's got the "I'm a tough guy attitude" and is always accusing me of wanting to practice on him - hence is a bit resistant to my ever-helpful ministrations. But, he will be getting the icepack treatment - 10 min on, 20 off - for the duration.
