DS's team just won their division (Bantam C) in the Blizzard Tournament. All

3 previous games had been easy wins, but the final was anything but easy. Final score 3-1, lots of penalty minutes and just plain long at times, but they won.

Cheryl Proud Mom moment over

(actually, the team is doing really great - he stopped 22 shots last night for a 5-3 final)

Congratulations -- to DS and to Mama too!

I think you are certainly deserving of a brag. Well done, Kurt and team. Also well done, Cheryl, for ferrying here and there all season!!

Mom is just amazed her heart didn't stop (and he's not the one getting checked by 6 foot tall monsters) and she still has nails left. The hearing is definitely iffy!

Dang if that boyo didn't look sharp out there this afternoon.

Cheryl

Well done to both of you! Your contribution is just as great lol

How good for both of you. I know how much you enjoy his victories.

Lucille

WOOOHOOO!!!! Give him a really embarrassing hug and tell him it's from his secret admirer in ND!!!

Joan

They played again tonight and won 5-3 against a "superior" team.

Cheryl

YAY! Was he wearing The Pads?

Sara

You betcha - they are a tad beat up now! His butterfly is just a thing of beauty.

When the photographers put the pictures up on line, I'll send the link.

May I add a brag?? My DD returned from a camp in Quebec City yesterday as a member of Canada's national women's Team Handball team. She has been working very hard for this for several years, and played last week with a case of bronchitis, so I am very very proud of her determination. Dawne

Sorry for her that when the big moment came it was marred by bronchitis, but kudos that she carried on anyway! Managing to carry on will stand her in good stead throughout her life, not just in sports.

Now I should get myself dressed and across the harbour to Ruby and Bills for their New Years Day party - it's always great fun. Just a bit hard to get going this morning lol

Congrats to her!

Now to show my ignorance - is this an Olympic sport and if so, which season?

Helen

For Olympic sports, the Winter Olympics have to be sports associated with snow or ice. Basketball, for example, is in the Summer Olympics. HTH.
