OFF TOPIC - stuff

Well, DS has the cast off and now has a boot and the instructions to go at his own pace to lose the crutches... The screw comes out the beginning of October.

Ah right! if it isn't him, it's her with the "moody blues" or DH or the latest joys of my own aging.... C

Great news that DS can now get around on his own. As to the rest of the family, maybe it's time for some exclusive Cheryl pampering so you might want to gently tell them to "bug off."

If they all didn't seem so "fragile" at the moment I would. School starts in

4 days and that will help. C

I hope your injured finger is all better by now and you can at least escape into stitching.

Enclosed please find one plane ticket to California. Lucille can send you the Calif-Florida segment later. I'm sure we can pass you around RCTN long enough for the family to figure out how to do for themselves.

Only for short bursts and then the scar starts to itch... (grumble, reading more instead)

Not until mid-October. I need to job hunt and lose lots of weight before the

30th HS reunion. (I'll settle for good body shaping and totally classy outfit) C

I missed that entirely - yes Gill, I expect better puns from you....

And as an update, he's ditched the crutches and has stopped using the elevator at school (to get from one class to the next).

I'm glad he's doing so well, Cheryl. Will he be able to play sports this season, or does he have a long stretch of physio instead?

Well, the calf muscles are already rebounding - all that walking at school makes a difference. If all goes well, when the stitches are out from the second surgery (to remove a screw), he can hop on the ice.

I am going to go crazy trying to keep the socks for under the boot clean. He sweats - a lot and they are drenched by the end of the day at school.

Now - how do I cope with DD who is either more tired than she should be (she supposed to have lights out at 8 PM) or is hormonal or is just plain stressed out from the craziness of the last year (take your pick, it could be all three)

Way to go, Kurt!

Maybe a girls' weekend away? Doesn't have to be anywhere far, just somewhere she'd like to go for a little "mom" time, since you've been so busy with Kurt and birthday parties recently. Camping, to the beach, whatever. Are grandparents close? Maybe it could be a 3 generation-type getaway?

Of course, if it's hormonal, nothing will help! :) BTDT, don't wanna do it again!
