OFF TOPIC VENT

I am so PISSED OFF.

I finally got a decent tenant again. She's thrilled to have the woodstove - so cozy and warm, even if she only uses on the weekends.

She just got wood delivered - a pick up truck load - and some jerk stole it out of the car port in broad daylight. Her Dad stacked it for her Tuesday AM and it was gone when she got home from work that night. And no one, not even the nosy neighbor that reports stray cats saw anything.

Not much money involved - a half cord is $200 around here but come on folks. And there is plenty of free wood around too for the taking.

GRRRR

Cheryl - vent off.

I feel sorry for her - nothing worse than some stranger feeling free to just take your stuff ! They must have backed up a vehicle to do it, so how about spending less on gas and more on their own wood!

Well, I certainly hope you called the police! Even though not a huge amount of money is involved, it is still THEFT! I would put out the word that wood was stolen, and that the police were notified and will be watching the neighborhood more closely from here on, too! Make it VERY clear that you will prosecute!

I just heard from the maintenance shop - someone saw a local vehicle leaving the dead end street with a load of wood in the back! YES!

She did - it is her responsibility to report it. And while the thief may be uncovered at some point and arrested, it may never go anywhere. It would be up to the DA and the chief. An arrest will go on the record though!

Still pissed off - this is a sheer lazy scum bag as there is a place that will let you take - free of charge - wood that you have to cut/split to size for your stove. It's mostly broken pallets and burns a treat.

Local how Cheryl? Like... a local business truck, or maybe a vehicle that they'd recognize if they saw it again? Please keep us in the loop with this one so we can all celebrate when the scumbag's caught.

A frequently seen older vehicle - the kind were you see it several times a week to know "oh that belongs around here". The road the condo exits to is a "short cut" road now to more traveled roads.
