OT: ANOTHER New Cat Baby

Hi Guys, Well, we are now back up to THREE cats!!!! We went to the closest Pet Smart to return the carrier that IvyJane was in when we got her. The kitty I had first wanted -- Bunnie -- was still there. She did what she has done every time I have been to see her -- stopped what she was doing, made immediate eye contact with MOI and didn't stop looking at me. I had been told that she didn't really get along with other cats and that's why we chose IvyJane. Well, turns out that Bunnie didn't start having problems with other cats *until* she started having to spend all of her time in a cage! When she was first rescued, she was kept in a large room with the other cats and had no problems. That was all I needed to hear :-). Poor DH, I told him when we saw her that if the lady in charge (not there but contacted by phone) said there was ANY way she thought Bunnie could adjust then we would have three cats again. So Bunnie (The Bodacious Ms. B who weighs in at 12# 7oz and is on a diet) is now in the bathroom with the same setup as IvyJane had. The difference is that she came right out of that carrier ASAP and started to chow down. I got the cat brush (suitable for short haired cats only), went into the bathroom, sat on the floor and Miss B was right there, laid down next to me and proceeded to present her parts for a vigorous brushing. Methinks she's going to fit in nicely and I honestly don't think there will be a big problem with adjusting to the other cats. Cassie (Baby Cat) just ignores other cats and IvyJane is a stealth kitty so things should work out OK. DH took some photos and I will have to upload them to Webshots when I get the time. She's a lovely, short haired, pulchritudinous dilute calico and when she slims down will be quite the little lady. She just now let out a large meow and Cassie just slept through it -- LOLOL! Wow - you now have a full complement! Congrats. I hate going to the Petsmart when the adoptees are there - I'm always tempted, but we're definitely not ready for more animals in the house...yet.

Congrats again, she sounds lovely. A zoftig cat. Reubenesque?

Most definitely zoftig and supremely Reubenesque -- LOL! If all you saw was her skinny tail and slender face and teensy, tiny little paws, you'd think she was about 7#. Then you add in the belly and she's quite rotund :-). I have posted her photo at my "Our Babies" Webshots album -- first one there. CiaoMeow >^;;^<

I'm sure she will be fine. I've been thinking of getting another cat to keep Max company but I'm not sure that is what he wants. He's 15 and it could be a bit hard for him to adjust to a new companion. Plus the floors are being done this year - if he escaped outside I know he'd come back in an hour or two. Not necessarily so with a new cat.

On the other hand, I'm away a lot and even when I'm there I don't give him tongue baths. He has been very cuddly since Maggie died.

Time to clean. Dora
