OT-Buggy Dog Biscuits-aarrgghh

My turn to rant and rave.

I just finished cleaning out my pantry because a box of dog biscuits was crawling with bugs. So far I don't see them in anything else, most of which is in plastic containers.

Needless to say I threw out anything that wasn't either in a container or absolutely fresh and so far clean, but all that will now go into sealed containers as well.

I feel as though I'm crawling now so off I am to shower and wash my hair.

Poor Puff is absolutely flabbergasted at what's going on and why all his stuff is sitting on the floor next to the pantry waiting for the disinfectant I used to dry up.

Pyuch and ich ach ptui and yeech !!!!

Poor thing. Welcome to life in Florida. I still have barely broken the habits of having everything in canisters, sealed and storing things like sugar in the fridge. My mom was crazy about this after the first time we had bugs in FL.

Well, hope you can do something clean and refreshing - take yourself out for a nice walk, get a refreshemnt and remember why you love being in florida, while we're still skidding down the ice on the driveway.

We had that happen a couple of months ago -- and never even figured out what sort of bugs they were. They weren't regular weevils, I know that.

Ick, ick, and ick.

That brought back memories of a tour in the Middle East in the 1960s when I was about 19. We poured milk on our cereal, ate our cooked breakfast and only then, after scooping out & disposing of the nasties that floated out onto the surface of the milk, did we eat our cereal. Happy days! Oh to be young & innocent again

Sounds like DH's description of meals in Viet Nam. He said the best thing about coming home (next to me, of course) was getting to eat bread without meat (bugs) provided inside each slice.
