A vixen (female fox) appears to have her den in my yard and is busy raising
3 kits. The male should be around somewhere, I just haven't seen him yet. I saw Mom and one kit early this AM.

Hope you get the camera out and send us all pics ! Lucky you that she picked your yard.
Lucky you! My Dad had a family of foxes in his garden a few years ago - in LONDON! He used to buy tins of dog food for them!

Luky you! All we have is raccoons and opposums. I'd love to have a fox family pick my yard!

Hope they're not too near the house. A fox family inhabited a den under my neighbor's front porch. We all enjoyed watching the kits grow up, but
*she* had to deal with the smell of rotting carcasses under the floorboards, and when the foxes left, the fleas invaded her house and she had to have it fumigated (and she has no pets, so the fleas came from the foxes).Oh, yes...and the sound of rabbits being slaughtered in the middle of the night. The first time I heard it, I fetched DH and said, "someone's being attacked on York Road!" (the major thoroughfare, just behind us). I learned what it was, and was awakened many more times by the screeching sound. And fortunately had the foresight to warn houseguests not to be upset if they hear shrieking in the middle of the night. For such "quiet" animals, bunnies sure make a lot of noise when the fox gets 'em!

Thanks Susan. I don't want foxes in my yard anymore. :))

And don't forget it must not look like the original owner. The reason they invented fish 'triangles' was so consumers weren't put off by thoughts of fish. Look how that worked, people buy more fish triangles than they do real fish.
I begin to think the foxes have evicted my elderly ground hog! so not near the house, but in the hill!

I'll see how I did this AM Cheryl

Do foxes eat ground hogs I wonder? Hmm. You won't have to worry about cats fouling the garden this year at any rate. Gotta keep those kits fed! Dora Who often hears coyotes at night in the middle of the city
