OT; Cats or dogs?

I know there's a few out there that go either way, but most of us are definitely one or the other. Me, I 'm a dog person. I want a pet who's happy to see me at the end of the day.

And on topic, why is so hard to find interesting dog needlework?

I was a dog person. Walking my daughter's dog late on New Year's Eve and first thing in the morning on New Year's Day in the cold convinced me that a pet rock is more my speed.

Good question!!! I backspaced over lengthy, somewhat mean spirited comment about designers not being here to shed some light on this.

Oh a dog person. Though a Siamese cat is nice too because they don't make me sneeze like most American cat breed.

I was a dog person most of my life, until a cat entered the scene. They are every bit as loving, if not so overt about it. A thousand times easier to care for, especially when you have to leave town overnight.

Dog, any kind of dog, any breed of dog but preferably a little, loving foot warmer.

Dog. And why can't you find that much needlework featuring Bull Terriers?

`Cos they`re ugly - in a beautiful sort of way!

Rubbish! Miss Alice is quite the most beautiful dog in the world and would beat any other breed for utter gorgeousness and personality! It's all in the nose! (NB. Being a Staffy cross, she actually has a stop in her nose, unlike purebred bullies. However, we (the Browns) just *love* the roman-nosed bullies anyway!) ;-D

I always had dogs but it's not practical for me anymore. Bucket was wished upon me while my old dog was still alive and now I have taken on another rescue cat, so sometimes people have what is practical.

Cats - always loved dogs but cats are easier. We just adopted our third last week. All three are very affectionate and would prefer to be on our laps at all times. They run to the door to greet us just like dogs always did. In the three families (ours, our 2 DDs and DSILs) we have 10 cats and 2 dogs. Moni

BOTH, always both kitties & doggies. I am a bit fonder of kitties (obviously) but I do love doggies almost as much. I miss Suzi (the run away from home to go walk about and get lost) Dog terribly and will be VERY happy when DH is finally retired, we are back in the mountains of Lizard Land and we can get another Lhasa to complement the kitties! My sister has a saying about cats d dogs. Dogs look up to us. Cats look down on us. Pigs are equal. Jim.

">I know there's a few out there that go either way, but most of us are

Cats (currently 3), dogs (still missing the last one), turtles (currently two) and hedgehogs (also still missing Loki Magnus Lokisson the World's Strongest Hedgehog).

In general, I think I have seen better dog themed needlework in British publications than American ones.

Love it, Jim. How true. Maybe that`s why I love pigs.

I have quite a nice dog chart pattern book somewhere with lots of different ones - not dogs in a scene though - just portraits - some just heads but nice, all the same. There`s a lovely GSD head that I`ve done a couple of times for different people.

I like both but we only have a dog (Jasmine, a yellow lab) since DH doesn't like cats. If we ever got divorced, that's the first thing I'd get! LOL We're also "housing" DD's horse right now. Over the years I/we've had gerbils, horses, salamanders, hamsters, fish, and bearded dragons in our house, besides the dog(s).

Oh, and remember the discussion about poodles awhile back and I mentioned there was an article about using standard poodles for hunting? I told DH I wanted to get a poodle next and he said, "Are you crazy?!?! I'd be the laughingstock out in the field!" LOL
