Just been watching the new "Dr. Who" - and it was actually pretty good! The last of the Daleks appeared - and this one could climb stairs! LOL! Mind you, it ended up self distructing as it had started to change abd have feelings. Oh well!

I've been enjoying the new Dr--shows here on Monday nights. Glad to here there is a Dalek on the horizon. Last week we learned there are aliens among us, and they are living at Number 10. Quite an insight, actually. Dawne
Yikes, wish you hadn't said. We are just starting that series.
Thought you didn`t watch tv!

CBC are not stupid. They promo'd Dr Who to hell and back during Corrie - reasonably figuring, same market. I haven't watched a whole episode, but have seen the end of two, about the last fifteen minutes or so, just to reassure myself the Tardis was still there!
Now I need Dawne to let me know when the Dalek appears so I can tape it lol
You don't believe me do you? No I don't watch much tv. Corrie and probably 20 minutes of the national news on CBC at ten and that's it. Sometimes a bit of PBS Boston but they seem to be forever fundraising these days, far more than they seemed to previously, though that might be my imagination. The rest, all those silly reality shows, sitcoms etc. just not of any interest to me, so why would I watch ?
Lord, if that`s all you get, I don`t blame you. Mark did comment that Canadian tv was pretty crappy. We don`t like sitcoms and "reality" shows either.
I only watched this episode of doctor Who because the Dalek was on it, but it was good, so maybe I`ll watch another one. We watch a fairly new and rather good programme called "Room for Improvement" where they do an in-depth study of people`s home improvememts (building new extensions for various uses etc.) Yesterday they built an exercise pool and big conservatory with changing room. Much better than the stupid re-decoration programmes we get far too many of these days, where they go all arty-farty with renovating and you know darned well that as soon as the tv crew have gone it will all be ripped out and repainted! You can see by the look of stunned disbelief on the faces of some of the home-owners! Apart from those I rarely miss any history programmes, or most detective series.

Sheena and other Canadian dalek fans---one turned up in the preview of next week's show shown last night. So, next Tuesday, we can all tune in. Dawne
I saw that and instantly programmed the vcr so I shall not miss it ! It looked a slightly updated form of Dalek I thought!
Been away a lot lately, skimming thru headings on occasion, this one jumped out at me!
One of Dude's coworkers just returned from a business trip to Seattle, where they are close enough to the Candadian border that they get CBC. He caught an episode of Dr Who and came back raving about how good it was, how much improvement to special effects, how much he liked the new Dr, etc etc etc.
That got Dude curious, can we possibly get to see these shows? Of course not!
We get BBCAmerica, but they tend to run about a year behind their Mum back in the UK. We live too far from the northern border for CBC to be an option (which really bites during Hockey season, I miss the Saturday Night Hockey lineup).
It's just funny timing that I read this post this morning after Dude spent an hour or so online last time searching for the new Dr Who! We did find the official site and watched trailers tho!
