Filled my scooter basket with wild mushrooms, bullaces and the bigger wild plums (like small Victorias) this morning when we took the dog out around the field near us. It`s a good year for wild goodies - and that is supposed to presage a hard winter!
Jane`s jam-making from the stuff she`s been finding and I was going to give the plums to her but John ate most of them on the way home! There should be a small orchard of small plums in a few years time! The hazelnuts are ready, too, which should mean that the Kentish Cobs should be available at our local farm shop at any minute. I love September. There should be wet walnuts about, too - so much nicer than the ones in the shops nearer Christmas.
