I am not namimg you names. I was just asking you why this lady so keen on having a correct translation of the Bible , did not look into the Original Hebrew Bible , you made the strange comment that This would not be the Original ,,, from pure surprise about this `new invention `of your`s , i made this comparison .
The Tanach -The Bible [ to you the Old Testament ] was written in HEBREW . And Nothing you invent will change that fact. mirjam
You are vulgar, a bully and your grammar is appalling! Oh, you can amuse yourself flaming me, I don't give a rat's ass. People like you are the most uninteresting creatures to me. You enter a discussion with the firm intention of winning even if, for that , you have to steam roll over everyone else's opinions or dignity! Loosing your own dignity in the process, of course! And if you think I'm doing this to "protect" Mirjam, don't. She can take care of herself! It is easy to understand why you chose that name! Suits you! Sofia D

Karen knows that there are many things on which she and Sheena agree totally, and that Sheena's got her back on those issues.
I don't expect to have any friend who agrees with me 100% of the time, and Sheena in fact brings up a good point that the King James Version is not accurate because King Jim wouldn't give his imprimatur to some of the philosophies.
The Martin Luther German translation was not beholden to any ruler, and is the one I refer to when I want something closer to accuracy than the politically-motived KJV. It may not be entirely accurate to what Moses himself told his grandsons orally 6000 years ago, but it's as accurate a translation of the original *written* version as is likely to be available. Short of a time machine so we can talk to Moses himself, that's as good as it's gonna get.
However, Sheena did apparently miss the point that I was not citing to the accuracy of the Bible, but to the accuracy of the map. I make the reasonable assumption that the modern mapmaker did the research to know for certain that City A was previously known as City B, and prior to that as City C. We do know for a fact that the Romans changed the name of the area from Judea to Palestine; there are written records of that.
Lucretia , What a strange behaviour , did i call you names ? I asked an honest educated question , and all you know is calling me childish names. mirjam
I just reread your letter because i thought i missed some thing ,,, Oh no i didn`t miss it
Yes you did write it .....may i advice you to brush up on your facts , before calling others,,,,,,, what ever you called me ,,,, even when i try i can`t be as rude as you ,, comimg from a lineage that could write Generations before yours . mirjam

Above is a really useful post - it illustrates beautifully an ad hominem argument - there is not a single word about Bibles or the translations of Bibles, which was the subject under discussion.
I see you were posting in the early evening from Belgium - interesting.
Brat:- If you read this, I do know that using ad hominem in this context is not it's original usage, but it does seem to have become the sense in which it is used in usenet.

I'm not entering the discussion, only telling you your approach to those who don't agree with you is rude and common. You could be discussing potatoes or something else. You don't even have the politeness of addressing me directly!
Why? Do you find Belgium such an interesting country or is it only one more attempt to insult someone?
Please, don't send messages to someone else through your answer to me! It is not polite! Sofia D
In the usenet context, there is nothing impolite about doing this. Usenet messages are never directed at just one person. If one wishes to communicate with only one person and preclude others reading or jumping in, one uses email.
Don't tell me it is normal, because I know you wouldn't like the same done to one of your posts. You are too territorial for that! So am I! It has nothing to do with what happened here! Ms. LB using what could pass for an answer to me, spoke to everybody else. I would prefer my posts not being used nor as a soap box nor a preaching pulpit.Thank you! How come the "discussion" starts between Ms. LB and me and continues through you? Some kind of an umbilical cord thing? If you're thinking of pulling Mirjam into the mix, don't! She has already enough on her plate! Sofia D
It happens to my posts all the time, but I guess you haven't noticed. It's called thread drift and people use other people's posts to turn the conversation whatever way they choose all the time. If you object, you might want to find a different medium for self-expression.
"You posts in public, you takes your chances."
Actually, what has happened here is that you have been the victim of a perfectly executed "cut direct."
Given how you addressed Sheena, why did you think she would respond to you? You jumped into a conversation that was, by your own rules, none of your business to call her a bully. But then you complain that she's not polite? You've already declared her impolite. Why would you then expect her to be polite to you? That makes no sense.
Actually, the discussion did not start between you and Sheena. It started between Sheena and Mirjam, yet you felt the need to step in. Is that some sort of an umbilical cord thing?
Apparently not too much on her plate to post here regularly, but no, I had no intention of pulling her in. I can think of little more unpleasant than interacting with her, so I don't. Haven't for quite a while now, actually.
But I do need to point out that, since the conversation was between Sheena and Mirjam to begin with, she's aready in the mix. Guess you forgot that.

I have a good excuse when my grammar isn't perfect! English is not my native language! If you prefer I can write to you in French or Spanish or Italian or even Portuguese! But I tank you nevertheless. At least you were polite! Sofia D
OK, you prefer the hypocritical approach! Fine with me!
But does it apply to everybody or only to the chosen ones??
I didn't jump into the discussion. I was only referring to the way she adresses people that don't have the same opinion. I wasn't expecting her to be polite. I was asking her to be polite! It makes perfectly sense to me!! Let me ask you ! Are you her PR? Body guard?
Sorry, the discussion about rudeness started with me.The thing going on before that had to do with something else!
I really wish you to be in the same situation one day.Maybe then you'll turn into a decent human being! Who knows, maybe miracles really exist!
I don't have time for this stupid discussion! It's not worth it! Sofia D
PS Dr Brat i forgot to thank you for your enormous sensitivity to people who are in an uneasy situation . Not that it is the first time you react this way to me ,,,,, but really
I am esp thankful for this expression ,,,,,, Since it puts you in the place i knew you were....just a hateful person. mirjam
Lucretia , thank you for this pleasant note ,,,, Dr Brat , thinks it is brave or polite , to speak about me on a public forum, but at me. I am not afraid to speak towards her . Do you reallt think an Email kill file is frightening me , it never did before and now it made me giggle ,,,,, mirjam from Haifa that got hit this night and we have 3 dead and over 100 wounded .

Then if you are the person with the perfect manners you would have started a new thread, not interrupted a continuing one.
Yeppers, she's my rottweiler!
Which is why you were rude, interrupting instead of starting a new thread.
You are the only one mentioning her, twice so far. It is not clear to me what she has to do with this, other than that I was responding to one of her posts.
