LOLOL! Yes it CAN be done - we still get on fine with our EX-daughter-in-law AND ex Son-in-law. In fact Ex SIL and his new partner are having a birthday barbecue for me next week (and no, I`m NOT the one being barbecued, so shut up!!!).
