For Sheena and other Canadians, this was sent to me by an American friend.
Lost in Nova Scotia
(Only a Canadian would get this and well-travelled Americans and Mainers )
Two American tourists were driving through Nova Scotia. As they were approaching Shubenacaide (shoe-been-aack-id-dee), they started arguing about the pronunciation of the town's name. They argued back and forth until they stopped for lunch. As they stood at the counter, one tourist asked the employee, "Before we order, could you please settle an argument for us? Would you please pronounce where we are... ver-r-ry slo-o-owly?"
The waitress leaned over the counter and said, "Tiiimmmmm Hoorrrrttoooonnns."!(1)

(1)(for the non-Canadians or non-northern United States residents, Tim Horton's is a doughnut and coffee chain found throughout Canada and some of the northern US states). Mike Myer's in the movie "Wayne's World" based his Stan Mikita's donuts on Tim Horton's.
