Thanks for your understanding. When I decided that I needed to have a dog again I looked into rescues, but it's nearly impossible to find a small dog. They're snapped up immediately and by the time the info reaches my town they're gone. I registered with every shelter, rescue agency and Vet's oiffice to no avail, but I figured I would wait for something to come up.
Then I made the mistake of reading an ad in the newspaper about a litter of puppies in a private home a few blocks from here. So I went "just to look." I met the mom and dad, played with the puppies, and I'm sure no surprise to anyone, I was immediately adopted by a 2 lb. ball of white fur that I named Puff because he looked so much like a powder puff.
Just as an aside, according to my Vet, he's almost surely a full bred Maltese, but he has no papers and he's 3 lbs. over the breed standard weight, so I'm not a doggie snob.
