I used to love that poem before it became such a big deal.

I always loved wearing purple or red. Now it's become a problem here in FL where there are lots of Red Hat Ladies. My daughter's room was decorated in purple, red and pink. If it was now, we would never have used those colors.

Oy veh, ain't that sandals ??

I know but I do like the bit about spitting in the street. ( Truth be told there is nothing I hate more and anytime I see some old man spit in the parking lot, I give him a piece of my mind.) It's just the thought, that if I cared to spit, I would. It's probably unfair really, I have never seen a woman spit, just men.

I am always insulted when people ask me if I am a Red Hat - now Raging Grannies I don't mind, although I didn't join them, they formed after the time at which I was willing to march in protest.

opps! I knew there was something wrong with it. *grin*

I love the sentiments expressed. I just get annoyed by all the people who talk about purple and red hats but don't know the rest of the poem. It's like people who talk about having "miles to go before I sleep" but draw a blank at "whose woods these are, I think I know."

That brings to mind the infamous saying "red hat, no drawers"!
