Not quite as low, but same thing here. Just heard a forecast, temp will come up and snow will come down - there is no winning !!!!!

Tell me about it So - that makes no school for DS yesterday, no school for DD (yep - her turn), most likely no school tomorrow. DS is PO'd because he had no finals tomorrow anyway as he has study C period and Lunch for D.

Amen to that. My day - after Donna went shopping with me yesterday so I could get a suit (pants) that is appropriate for job interviews, etx - today is totally screwed up.

I updated my resume - which took a bit of thought. More bullets, less prose. Then, the printer gave me 4 tries of just black ink blobs at the top. So clean the printer head - 8 times. Now not enough ink to print, and it still looks not so good. Other super printer - well, knew the cartridge was out - but not using it so much - so that's out.

Call local UPS store - about 1.5 mi from house in neighborhood strip center

- he says I can e-mail the resume, and they'll print it, and I can pick up my copies at the store. Oh, by the way - they're the only store open in the center - except the large Harris Teeter.

Why - you ask? It's snowing in metro DC. And will have sleet/freezing rain tonigh. Well, DC is a mess in snow - part of the benefit of multi-cultural living -woo hoo. Seriously - it's a mess. Add to that - while it's likely only about 1" in town now - we're at about 3-4" here. Supposed to continue into the evenings (we should end at about 6-7") And, the roads in the hood not cleared. I just listened/watched the post office carrier spin her wheels - a lot. She skidded out in 4 different places on our cul de sac. Nice.

Kid at UPS store says: roads are a big mess - I don't know how much luck you'll have getting to Chantilly (where close job fair is). I can't go out the more direct way - road already blocked with skidded out accident on little bridge. So, would have to go around the long way to main roads - adding about 10 mi. By the time I get there- I figure they'll all be heading out - as it was supposed to run until 3, but, all the schools are closing 2-3 hours early, if not already closed. So...here I am. The gods have conspired.

I guess that this just wasn't meant to be. But, I did get a really nice suit, and the sales girl couldn't scan my $10 coupon, so gave me a different $25 coupon instead. Which made me feel much better about having to buy clothes for job seeking. Yuck. And, well, the big resume does look better. And there are some more fairs in 2 weeks. I guess I'll be living with much resume sending. Also - the Wash Post had an article recommending that people really use Linked In or similar for job seeking - so I guess I'll have to figure out how to really use that. Darn - it's so much work getting work.

Suppose I could go shovel the drive - even though I'm all clean and pretty, so to speak (will change clothes). Wondering how DH who is in the very low to the ground, albeit 4 wheel drive all the time, little TT. Bet he'll be thrilled with his commute.

Not really complaining about the snow - nice to see. Just the timing of everything today. I should've just stayed in bed, and should be happy I didn't either fall in the shower, electrocute myself drying hair, blow up the house when using the stove, or fall down the stairs...yet. Now, if I can just find the ice melt.

Me too. Want to see the surgeon for the knee and Thursday they are forecasting the snow argggh ! I will get there if I have to take a cab, probably only to find he didn't make it !
