And Happy September to those of us who are simply thrilled that August is gone. The temperature dropping to a bearable 85° makes me want to burst into song or write a sonnet. Maybe I'll just go back to my Sunbonnet Sues. Happy to you all. Polly

Do you have no love for us?? are we no friends of yours?? sigh.. tell me what can i do to change that? A chocolate bribe.. will that help? :-)

I was wonding if I'd missed the August singing too! But I was afraid to say anything in case I'd just missed it.

Got used to it - August school holidays so no class recognition and later everyone away and all clubs/societies having a rest, so no one around to notice!

You have to be born in an active month if you want to be sung to - in August everyone's asleep!

(Being on the 31st I almost escaped to September!)

Yeah I know. Both my kids were born in the summer, so neither of them ever got to have their "day" at school. Oh well, it saved me baking cupcakes!

If I recollect correctly , Pat and I had a discussions on the 'proper' word to use for those born in August. I don't always write it on the very FIRST day of the month as I do have a few other obligations every so often and try to do it as soon as I can.

I didn't realize ppl were keeping that close track.

Butterfly (Licorice would be just fine--black prefered)

I have no control as to whether or not anyone else joins in the singing. If you all that were born in the month of August would like to be named something else, please let me know, and I'll take it up with the Powers that Be and see if they can help me remember your new name. I've been trying to come up with something different for each month instead of just adding 'ettes' to the end as we do have a few gentlemen on here, also, and I haven't asked what month they celebrate their day..let alone try to remember if they did say.(deep breath) Any and all suggestions will be duly considered.

Me too! And it just seemed downright piggish to ASK for your birthday song.

It didn't come to my house, Butterflywings. So sorry I missed it.

See? That's why I hesitated to say anything! I figured (correctly) I missed it! Thank you Butterfly. August was a strange month and getting a year older didn't help much. Thanks for your wishes....I wish I'd thought of checking the archives first. Hugs,

I guess that just confirms the fact that some messages get missed for one reason or another. Let's blame our ISPs!

Me too, cause I was there and I was singing.

Butterfly (next year, I'll sing LOUDER and maybe LONGER, if I remember)

Now and then my memory is working. B'fly - that was about the time that you were trying to get a bit of help on what Raggedy Ann's hair was supposed to look like. It seems like the net goblins were toying with your posts. Polly

Butterflywings.. i owe you an apology.. you sang!.. but in my defence i have to say : I never got that post.. i just checked again but no.. not here..but thank you anyway.. ( i like the word Augustonians btw..) I spend great part of my birthday in hospital for tests and a biopsy so it was not what i had in mind how i would spend my bday.. so it was not my best birthday and it was my 50ths too.. Not that i really mind turning 50 though..not REALLY.... sigh Anyway.. again.. thank you for singing..i bet it sounded great! :-)

Augustonians is OK. Though it seems a bit cumbersome, and for some reason makes me want to sing "The Yellow Rose of Texas". If it good with you keep it, I tend not to argue over silly things with people who well wish me.(G) If you find it a bit clunky, consider Augustans. Sounds very literary, dignified, and enirely suited to a month full of Leos.
