We've been having the same stupidity here, mostly with thieves stealing the small copper piping from oil tanks to furnaces. Can$2 at the junk yard but literally hundred of thousands in cleanup of oil dripping into the soil.
I've come to the conclusion that they do indeed know what damage they are doing, but don't care, you would probably find it's the same where you are. There is a new class of petty criminal today and it's ugly. I hope your citizens rise to the occasion and get the food back for them.
JERKS! a few weeks ago, some one killed themselves getting copper at a substation a few towns over.. C
This is a really big problem lately. I do hope they can recoup their losses *some*how! That's a lot of food to lose.
On a lighter note, I heard a story on the radio last week about 3 people breaking into what they thought was an abandoned building to steal the copper. Turns out it was a training area for guard dogs! One person gave themselves up, one got cornered in a trash bin and the
3rd ran for it and had several bites taken out of his butt by one of the dogs!!!Just retribution, I'd say. :)

I hope the judge sentences the culprits to hundreds of hours community service *at* the food bank they vandalized. Let them F2F with the people who they hurt.
As long as he doesn't manage to sue and have the dog put down....

Which is far too likely these days... C
