I was taking a quickie look on-line when I came across your post.....thank you very much for posting such an interesting site! I loved seeing Sara's artworks! Her art is utterly amazing done with such meticulous detail......it's very exciting for me to see all those interesting bits and pieces she used to embellish and create the art pieces shown. I'm glad the viewer is able to zoom in for a closer look at the details.......

Is there a book on her work? I'd love to see even more of her work & techniques.....this is what I imagine contemporary crazy quilting might look like! Looking at these pictures inspires me to want to make something similar using all the interesting bits and pieces of embellishments I've collected through the years........be an interesting experiment to have a group of fiberartists create something similar using Sara's work as an inspiration point. The results would be so interesting as each artist would create something in their own unique style!

The influences of Sara's world travels and study of other cultures can be clearly seen in these art pieces......they remind me very much of Australian aboriginal art, African, Asian and so on.....all very well intergrated becoming her own style.

I've not been able to get on-line much these past few weeks due to a frantic pace packing up half the house completely by 1 May when construction and renovation of my new studio & office is to start. They'll be taking off the roof hence the complete removal of my old studio & office......also the renovation of the kitchen, hallways, adding on new rooms, etc.......so in order to move, we also have to pack the other rooms and move many of those things out to a storage facility so we can move the painting and office things into the newly cleared spaces.

Packing the hundreds and hundreds of books in my design & art library seems an unending task at the moment......hard to believe I bought so many books! I've already packed dozens of boxes and literally have a ton of stuff to pack yet. BUT......I keep telling myself it'll be WORTH IT to have all the new space to work in!!! I can hardly wait for it all to get done but realistically know we'll be lucky if they get it all done by Thanksgiving or late Nov......more like Christmas......it'll be a good gift for sure!
