Maybe K , you should relieve your horror , by preparing packets of help , fot those future weeks . Arranging groups of people who like you may help those people. Find houses that will accept some of the people , This i call a good relief for future known horrors, Laughing before it happened , wishing it on some you don`t like ,,,Strange way to cope, if you call that coping.?
I am sure these people, will be relieved to know that your horror is relieved. It will warm their hearts. >

Yes Caryn ,, you said it yourself
there comes a point , but this point is way after it happened when we know who was saved [ hopefully all ] what was lost and not , than when all are `resting`, after rescue was completed ,, Than comes that point where some of the people can make jokes about it... But wishing this happening on somebody This is not a joke , nore funny.
After the rescue , not before , after it is over , not before.
Well thank you!! , i don`t think it is funny to wish me, mine or anybody else to be washed away ,,,,,I never wished harm to anybody here, if they think wishing me harm is funny in any way, than they should look good into their souls and ask themselves why they do it.
No, this is not humour, i have written itt here mopre than once, if you write such things wishing harm on those you dislike, next step it is easy to become agressive towards people close to you ....becuae you crossed a threshold in your thoughts.
if that is your kind of joke, i am very glad you dislike me so much to find it funny that somebody wants to target me for being wiped out. and i wish you that you never have a sad day in your life. mirjam >

I never wished you ill, I did joke about wiping out the place I grew up and also a couple cities in California. I did not agree that your area should be part of K's travel plans, so don't put that on me.
You can't say something isn't humor just because you, personally, don't find it funny. Obviously several people here did think it was funny, therefore it is humor.
I know there are lots of things I don't think are funny that others do, I accept that it's still humor even if it doesn't match my sense of humor at all.
Also, given the devastation the U.S. has suffered lately, we DO have the right to joke about it now, it is after the event as you say.

That`s the way a LOT of people cope with fear and disaster, Mirjam - with jokes and laughter to reduce the stress. You cope your way, but it`s not really your place to voice an opinion on how other people cope.

LOL! Most people use a doctor - but since a vet takes more years to train than a doctor, perhaps they`re right! ;-)

Good God, Mirjam, I grew up and learned to laugh in the face of adversity LONG before that! As I said earlier, that`s the way well-balanced people deal with disaster.
As to You Elizabeth Dr Brat. yes i said you were unkind and rude, but
Well, we could always hope for a landslide - or a volcanic eruption? ;-)
I should have mentioned they have 13-20 cats/kittens in the house (it fluctuates because Dad takes in foster kittens) and two dogs, one a very senior citizen). Their vet doesn't always charge them the full amount on the foster kittens, understands the old dog (who is a piece of work) and they totally trust him.
I suspect that they actually care less about their doctor than they do about the vet for the animals!

I'm new to the group, and I don't understand what the Vikings having a
*love boat* episode has to do with anyone losing everything they own. Please fill me in. Mindi life long MN resident and Packer fan.

You could always track back through the posts to the first one and read it. That will tell you everything.

Oh shut up, Mirjam - you just can`t understand our sense of the ridiculous - don`t even try. Just ignore it.

Mirjam, The joke to which I was referring to has to do with the Vikings, not any of these other subjects. The *joke* has nothing to do with finding humor in forcing catastrophes on people. By deflecting my question, you've shown you indeed do not know what Joan E. and I found humorous. If you can't understand this, then perhaps you should be asking for clarification on the
*inside story* instead of asking for my personal background information. I'd be more than glad to fill you in if you'd ask. I'm sure Joan E. wouldn't mind, either.

Thank you, Heather, for understanding this.
Since I have her killfiled, I really wasn't thinking about it. She wasn't my intended audience. That was poor nettiquette on my part, however, because I've probably provoked a firestorm for the rest of you. I apologize for that.

Personal attacks now? You rail at the entire group over the actions of one, you can't understand the humor involved in others' posts, so you start calling names?
It's no way to get your opinion respected.

Why is your religion even an issue here? Pat didn't say your town should be the target, so why attack her?
You are trying to deflect attention away from your own bad behavior by throwing religion into the mix. It has no place in this discussion.
Nobody cares what religion you are, this group has pagans, jews, christians, agnostics, atheists and nobody else points fingers about religion except you. Seems like you have the problem there, not us.
