Let me be the first to welcome you to RCTNP!!! You have some really interesting projects you've done and your work looks beautiful!

I really like the bluebird one and commend you on your good work. Crewel is probably my least favorite form of needlework to do, but I like how it looks.

Loved the crewel as well. Did crewel many years ago and still have some of the pillows stored in a closet somewhere and a picture I did for my mom with a cardinal on a pine branch still hangs in the hall. Once I discovered counted cross-stitch I never looked back.

Thanks ladies! I must agree, the crewel "bluebird of happiness" is the most lovely of all my creations...even if it was a bit laborious to stitch.

I'm of the mind that one should always try new forms of stitching, as you n ever know what might become your next love. For a long time I was totally s ick of cross stitch and wouldn't even look at it, and now I love it again b ecause it's simple and stress free. I tried hardanger once before, but due to bad directions I threw that mess of a bookmark out in a frustrated fury. ..now thanks to Joan (and instructions via flosstube) I'm ready to give it another go. I've considered giving stumpwork a try too, but for some reason I find that one pretty intimidating.

Oooo, that reminds me of a crewel pic of irises I did *years* ago, still unframed! I wonder where it is? I don't remember seeing it around lately. Must go look for it! It will match my bedroom perfectly!

Thanks for the memory bump, Nancy!
