Read it more carefully, people. The hotelier took the original E100 banknote to pay off his debts, therefore when the rich tourist came downstairs and demanded his money back, it was no longer there. It had been used. Therefore, the hotelier OWES the tourist his money, and is gong to have to go into debt again in order to pay it back. The people in the middle have all paid their bills, but the hotel owner is still on the hook for the money, and therefore is still in debt. Moreover, he is likely to get in real trouble with the local authorities for stealing from a tourist.

A friend of mine sells jewelry on Ebay. She also buys lots of jewelry in order to get the pieces she sells. She might buy a particular lot to get two or three pieces and end up with 20 she can't use. Anyhow, I want to use broken odd bits for collage, so she's been giving me the stuff she can't use. I had a huge bag of it and have had two different evenings sorting through this stuff with friends. Lots of entertainment, several people with bits they want for various projects, and 2 bags of stuff to take the local shelter's thrift store. And my friend is happy that all her extras provided such fun.

Oh how fun - I was looking at my old earrings, from my gotta have one in each color days, and think - now what can I do with these.

And there is the single broken earring we found - lovely green stone, and I want to find just the right spot to use it on a crazy quilt....
