THis is not a stitching now..project yet. However decided eons back when the grand-daughters were little I would stitch each of them something special to mark their "thirteenth" birthday. For Stephanie, a couple of years back I did the August Needleroll from Victoria Sampler, with her name etc, and framed as a picture.

This year I have four to accomplish. I showed my DD the VS needle roll for October, and the Mirabilia "L" fairy. Happily the fairy is on the books for Lauren.

I might see how fast I can do it; I have another August step-grandkid, and a January SGD (all GDs to me), and another young lady, new to the family who is a December child. She has already hit 13, but I will make her something. What the heck do you call the stepson's stepdaughter??? Grandkid, I guess LOL Gillian

Let me know when you're ready to try --- I've got some little printed designs that I picked up at a rummage sale and have lots of extra thread for you to play with

Thanks. I'll probably take advantage of your offer one of these days. I've always done crewel and other kinds of embroidery, and I played briefly with ribbon, so why not this.

If I'm thinking of pictures that I remember of items called Brazilian Lingerie, there wasn't much room for embroidery. They were to say the least "skimpy."

Can you say "Bullion Knots" a thousand times? And twisted rayon?

Hmmm - I'm thinking it is more related to Brazilian waxing styles (remember, I used to be a Miami girl - and know about these things - even if not indulging). At least based on my parents Brazilian neighbors.....

Bullion Knots I've done with crewel wool, but I imagine they're much harder with slitery rayon.

Errrr, isn't that a special waxing for the ladies?? Wonder how they decorate the remaining site.

I know of that - there were mannequins in the window, but I could never bring myself to stop and go into the store.

BTW - supposedly, according something I read a few months ago, there is the equivalent waxing for the guys and those pouch/thong swimsuits.

yes, no, maybe. The edmar needle pack helps a bit; they're quite long but it can be tricky threading 'em even with a threader -- some of the eyes seem too small even though they alledgely can be used with class of thread
