I'm in the home stretch for completing the Inspirations inspired teapot -- stitching the petals and leaves on wire foundations. I'm at a loss what to do once I 'poke' a hole to push the wire to the back I assume I whip stitch the wire ends together and then down. Another assumption -- if there aren't any threads close to the object, I plan to go back to the front with a small stitch under the petal or leaf to use as an anchor(grammar police, feel free to reconstruct this sentence ). Are either or both assumptions close to the way it should be done?
The design called for scattering delicas on exposed areas of the teapot. Since all my beads are of the seed bead variety, I opted to use what I had on hand. I got carried away with the beading and covered almost all of the lower part of the teapot. I was so dismayed to see that most of the details had disappeared as the beads became the focal point that I painstakingly removed the beads. As each motif re-emerged in all its glory, I knew I had made the right choice.
Here's the second question: if I had used delicas and if I had had less of a heavy hand with the beads, would the stitching (mostly 1 or 2 strands) stand out to the same degree from the fabric as the beads?
