I have just completed my project for making a mouse pad. I am looking for the name of the "two-sided sticky stuff" to attach the piece to the mousepad. Thanks. Claire

On The Carol Duval Show, there is frequent use of double sided adhesive sheets. I've seen them at craft stores in the glue section. I don't know if it would work in that application, but you can but try!

I actually made a mouse pad from a kit many moons ago. There was a transparent plastic sheet of stuff with sticky stuff on one side to put over the top and regular sticky board for the underside. I have no idea what you might call the heavy plastic that was in the kit.

I also have a package of laminate sheets that I've used to preserve wallet cards. It's rather thin and might not hold up for use as a mouse pad but maybe that comes heavier. I bought the laminate material in an office supply store, probably Staples.

I get rolls of double sided sticky tape from the framers, specifically made for framing fabrics. You have to iron it once applied. I have projects using that method for well over 10 years and it has been perfectly satisfactory. It`s only the same sort of width as the wider Scotch tape/Sellotape, though.

Good heavens - I`ve only just thought of it, but why on EARTH haven`t I used it for putting felt backs on bookmarks before now??? Duh!

I've used sheets and rolls of Steam-a-seam to attach pieces of fabric together, to attach a stitched piece to a backing board, or to attach borders made of wide ribbons. Here's the website if anyone is interested:

new best friend turned me on to 'redline tape' which is a brand name for a double sided adhesive tape loved by scrapbookers and card makers. It's much stronger than double-sided 'scotch' tape. The downside to using it is that it can be difficult to remove the backing papers.
