Very OT! New Year Resolution

Today, I went ahead and signed up for membership in a toning and fitness center! It is located in the little shopping center, near my main Grocery Store. I decided that, since the big seven-oh is breathing down my neck, it was time to whip this old body into shape!

It seemed like fun, and I did the requisite thirty minute workout. There are eight different machines, with steps or running pads in between. It is supposed to take 10 mins to utilise all these torture devices. There is some rah-rah misc playing, and at 20 second intervals, you are told to move on to the next machine. At 10 or 15 min intervals you stop and take your pulse. Three circuits are the full workout.

I did find some muscles I had forgotten that I had, and all the machines were set on the lowest, woosiest reading. It will be interesting to see if the flab gets firmed up and the inches get reduced! At least signing up for this will ensure that I do go regularly, since the monthly payments are taken from my checking account.

Svelte, I will never be, but a little less chunky would be fine!

Good Luck! Don't get too carried away though. My friend who runs marathons took the summer off in Cape Breton while they fixed up the old family home. She put on about 10lbs almost instantly and is now dieting and training like mad to get it off again. She said it is a known problem, how to decrease the exercise when the time comes it is not feasible and not blow up !
