Waaaay OT: A question for my Australian friends.

This is about global warming. An Australina geologist named Ian Plimer has written a book called Heaven and Earth. It was available at the end of April, and copies were supposed to be available in North America on May

12th. However, only 25,000 copies were printed, and they seem to have sold like hot cakes. None came over here, and Amazon reports it is out of print. Supposedly, it has had a significant on the opinions of Australian politicians, and changed some of their minds. If anyone knows anything about this, or has an opinion, or whatever, would they email me. I am sure this has little interest for anyone else. TIA. Jim.

Just thinking, as someone working in a large bookstore--if the book sold out that quickly, the publisher would be insane not to print another larger run. They probably just did not anticipate the book would take off--happens from time to time. And if it is a smaller publisher, that compounds it because they rarely print a large run. When a book sells out, it shows up on my store's database as unavailable to order, or sometimes, if the publisher's intention is known, temporarily unavailable to order. You might try emailing the publisher to ask if another printing is in the works; they might be able to give you an estimate.

I haven't heard this book mentioned, although Andrew Bolt may have said something on his blog. I only read it from time to time.

He does usually mention any articles that are published that don't support global warming.
