Australian Stitches Magazine

Hello all!

I've been collecting back issues of "Australian Stitches". Does anyone here collect this? I need help understanding how they order their issues...

For instance, they seem to have 12 issues per year/volume, but then they have "Yearbooks" and "Annuals" - and it's extremely difficult to work out what order they go in.

Has anyone got the set (or most of the early ones anyway), and know what order they go in?

Thanks for reading...

Allan.

Heh - Hi Sally - I never thought about it being sold in other countries... I'm in Australia. I've just re-read my question and it doesn't say what I meant to ask! When I said "order", I mean "the sequence of the issues".

I've been collecting back issues for my wife. (Stitches often includes the tatty looking issues as a bonus magazine with the more recent issues at the newsagents.) So I visited about two-dozen newsagents to collect as many as I could find. I don't think Stitches themselves keep every back issue either - just the last few issues.

Our problem is, the sequence... For instance, I've now worked out that Volumes 1 & 2 only had four issues. Volumes 3 to 7 each had

*about* 6 or 7 issues. From then onward, they went monthly... So that part is easy. However...

With the early Volumes, they also had "Annuals" and "Yearbooks". Some of these actually *were* issue numbers, and others weren't - they were "inbetween" the normal sequence of issues.

Does anyone collect this magazine, that knows all the issues and their order?

Thanks again...

Allan.

Heh - every time I drop in here, someone says that! (The last time was when I mentioned I'd bought her five overlockers, because we couldn't work out which one was the best at the time.)

That list of magazines seems to confirm the list I've worked out. I wonder why one year they "lost" two issues!? Oh well!

Thank you!

Allan.

Where is "here"? They sell it in Borders in Leeds. Also, second-hand book dealers like Avril Whittle may get copies from time to time and it's worth asking them.

Re: Australian Stitches Magazine

Allan, if you fail to get an answer here, you might want to check inside your latest issue of "Stitches" for an email address for the mag, and forward your question to them. I own just a half-dozen issues of "Threads", so am of no help, but I do think their method of not dating issues is annoying.

What a sweetie! This web site has a number of back issues listed that might help you piece together what you need:
