You're right - I think it's seeing the shapes emerge. And like a treat to do something other than a shade of green. I'm trying to decide if I should just start filling in some of the very light color, or leave that so it stays clean. Haven't decided yet - but may go for it.
So, I think I'll go stitch a little before I get on with doing real work.
Maybe in the short term, and thanks for the suggestion. I'm not sure they can be altered, but I'll think about it - and put a button in the back while I'm at it. Long term, I've decided I don't really want to live with them. The color doesn't work as well in the space. But it usually takes me a couple of years at least to finish anything anyway. Oooh better get ready for work. Dora
I love this piece, but not sure I could do it justice as I sometimes tend to be counting impaired LOL. And I know what you mean about the color changes - the BOAF pieces I'm doing all have LOTS of green - Pistachio, Ivy, Hunter, Lagoon, Spring, Daffodil (yes, in WDW it's green, not yellow). I get excited when I get to change colors too! Especially since green rates *really* low on my favorite colors list!
I'm working on the Pompeii Garden mandala by Chatelaine. I'm supposed to be rotating between that and two others, but I'm hyperfocused on this one since it's so neat!
They are, but she puts them out in parts, and you work a part at a time...so it's more like a bite sized chunk and easier to tackle. The problem is the cost...lol.
I am still working on my Celebrations Class project, (On black of course), keeping my brother from tracking "dirt" into the house (had an old carriage house demolished), working like a fiend on bridals (all those June brides), preparing for niece Lisa to move to Nebraska and Ayako and Kaito to be moving "IN" while we finish her immigration work and wait for military housing to open up. On top of that DS #2 is graduated and a Doctor (still has internship and 4 years residency), and my Fil has been ill and we are planning to go to Long Island NY for the
4th of July. DD had a major car accident but did not total the car or have grievous injuries. Of course she was still learning to drive and I hope we can still get her behind the wheel again.
I dearly want to start Chatelaine's "Taj Mahal" , but I'm forcing myself to finish several WIP first. Have it all kitted up though.
No, just the door knobs, lightening rods, and silver fork, but I really have to wait for Dbil to come with his metal detector. DB got the retaining wall done though.
same one, but the body shop discovered a leak in the radiator and that the airbags and seatbelt tensioners were not working so it isn't "home" yet.

Hah !!! I thought you were into enabling me??? Bobbie V.
Ellice, at the rate I'm finishing my WIP I'll never get to "Taj Mahal". And and and the Temari are calling me as well and I have to send directions to Meg and Evelyn that I started them on. BOO HOO. LOL Bobbie V.
Boo hoo, too. My latest is that I keep plugging on the bigger or more significant WIP, and am trying to have something easily, clearly, finishable in the works as well. Kind of an alternating thing. But, I'm also trying to do the must work on a WIP, and then pull out a UFO for work before starting into the next waiting to go kit. Or something like that. Whatever
- I understand. I'm becoming more and more difficult to convince to buy anything - both given the stash, WIP/UFO situation, and the waiting to start working before going to debtor's prison situation.
But, hey, at least you have Taj Mahal - it's really lovely. When visiting there in '89, we bought some really nice pieces of inlaid marble - the kind of work on the Taj. A box, and a small plaque - I think that DXH has the plaque, but I believe that I may have a small box. It's a fabulous place. I know that I have some antique artwork from the area as well - so if I ever added the Taj Mahal piece, I'd have something else to hang with it! But, still, I've resisted.....LOL
A silver fork? Cool. Any more doorknobs? Those can be so tactile, especially some of the Victorian ones.
BUT - you have to come see my find at Home Goods. 4 Eucalyptus steamer chairs, nice ones at a grand total of $240. About the price of one of the pair we bought and returned to Home Depot last summer. A little tung oil and TLC and we are good to go for Gin and Tonics on the deck. (after I refinish the deck)
Well, if you must start it........ (r,d,h)
Last night, I took some advice I read hear here ages ago and started a mini project - a scissor fob from Follow the Leader Designs. I should finish it today some time and I'm going to finish it as a pin cushion top for an ort jar. I found an old Ball jelly jar and thought it would be perfect for an ort jar. C
