xst baby present

I am making my Friend`s first GD , a letter sampler with xst letters [ Of Course Hebrew] + tiny appliqued things that go with each letter , I was very happy to see i can now buy colored Aida here. Bought RED Aida and am now threading lines to mark the places ,, Hebrew has 22 regular letters + 5 End Letters ,, Thus decided to arrange them in 6 rows , 3 of 5 letters and 3 of 4 letters , this will give me more visual space for the figures and forms that are to `represent` the letters as well ,, Thus i am first embroidering the letters and than will add the aplique ,, I will add numbers as well , the one thing i haven`t decided is if i should add in between lines ??? will have to see how it works out ,,, mirjam

I'd love to see a picture of your sample, either unfinished or completed.

I'm curious, what do you mean by 'add in between lines'?

Sounds nice - are you wondering about just putting in some border stitch or decorative thing between the alphabet lines? That might be nice. Let us know when we can see a pic of the finished project!

Most likely you'll be able to make a decision when more of the piece is completed. As much as I like complex fiber work, as we say here in the U.S. 'sometimes less is more' In other words, leaving areas blank may bring the stitched areas even more to the forefront.

Ack ... what am I saying!!!!!!!!! You're the artist.

Thank you Anne , of course you can say something , since i pondered in public ,,, and yes like you i like the `less` approach,,,,, Have already half the letters and started to prepare tiny appliques to match the leters it is cute , the dramatic red background realy `makes` it .. mirjam
