Now, about the Mac problem. I use a Mac, too -- I've been using them for a couple of decades now. I don't know if I can help or not, but it would be useful to know what program/application you're using to read the messages here. Personally, I use a freebie called MT-NewsWatcher (NAYY) -- it works easily. You'll need to call your ISP to find out what the name of your server is, but that should be all that's necessary. HTH.

At the very least you should be able to post 'outside' your news reader by going to the group through google.

Congratulations! Hey, don't blame the Mac! Can she at least read/post through google? I know a lot of people don't like accessing the group that way, but works fine for me (on my Mac). I'm sure there are plenty of other newsreader options available, but I can't help on that, sorry.

Lynn, happy Mac user... now if they could just make an EQ for Macs.

Lynn, have you thought about using EQ5 on your Mac via an emulator? If you have an "older" Mac, Virtual PC will do the trick for you, as it does for me. If you have one of the new Intel Macs, you'll probably want to try Parallels. :)

Hi Sandy, I do run it with Virtual PC from time to time, but it's kind of slow and I find myself hesitant to go through the rigamarole of opening it (silly, because it's no more than a minute delay I'm sure, but that's the truth). I suppose it also annoys me to emulate the system that I didn't want in the first place! :) But, you're right, it does at least allow me to use it. I keep thinking about buying QuiltPro, mostly just because I feel like I want to reward them for mking a Mac version. Thanks for the tip about the Intel Macs...hmm, perhaps my ibook needs a trade-in!

LOL! I have an iBook, too. Very reliable, very easy to use -- but I'd love to update to an Intel Mac, though it's not in the cards at the moment. As for VPC, which version of Windows are you using? I was using '98 for a long time, but I've noticed that with VPC 7 and Win2000, things have gotten noticeably faster. :)

Oops! Forgot to tell you that I also have QP -- I've had that longer than I've had EQ5, simply because it runs natively on the Mac. I like it just as much as EQ5, because they both approach designing in different ways. Sometimes it's better to use QP, sometimes EQ5.
