a little bit more wedding report

I forgot to add.........My mother took a fall as the wedding party was getting ready to line up for the procession. I was already out in the tent since my wheelchair wouldn't take the "back way". Mother was walking with the bride's mother out of the house, and when the MOB stopped to see if she'd ripped her dress or shut it in a door, Mother continued on down an irregular stone stairway and tripped and fell on the cobblestone driveway. She skinned her knees, skinned her nose, (may have broken it) and bruised some ribs. We had to delay the start of the wedding for a few minutes with they tried to stop her nosebleed. She doesn't remember most of the ceremony. Her glasses were knocked off kilter and by the end of the evening she had two black eyes that were getting bigger and bigger....but perfectly symmetrical. We couldn't have spraypainted her with a stencil and had more even markings. Needless to say, she was mortified that she had caused such a stir at her favorite grandson's wedding. I'm sure the new inlaws think our family is terribly uncoordinated....and maybe we are! It's been a heck of a year........one year ago, my dad passed. Seems like yesterday and 10 years ago at the same time. I hope the next wedding is fall free.............................................

some folks'll do most anything to take the limelight. ok, so it was an accident but two of you all banged up. does make ya wonder what is going on in that family, lol. i do hope Mum gets better quickly. bet it made for some interesting wedding pix tho and the storys get better and better. surely a wedding no one will soon forget. i hope someone has documented this already so none of the details are lost over time. its priceless really. hugz to both of you, j.

Oh no! That's awful. Three generations ... ... I do hope she is OK - and has a sign hung round her neck saying 'Don't Ask' .. poor Mom.

I hope your DD's wedding will just sail through totally without incident. You keep your outings to a minimum between now and then! . In message , KJ writes

Omigosh, Kathyl! How awful. :( Still, it will make for some wonderful family "tales" in a few years. ;)

I get the feeling that I missed part of this story, but I sure hope your mom recovers quickly! OUCH!

Good grief! Keeping you and your mum in my prayers--seems as if you need all you can get at the moment!

She's improving. Her plum colored eyes have faded to a lovely yellow/green.

In this case, yellow/green is better than purple.

Good grief! Poor mum... Give her a (((Gentle Hug))), and y'all start taking cere over there!

So no eyeshaddow needed right now then... ;)

can anything else happen to you???? Yikes! {{{hugs for you and mom}}}
