KJ - Need a wedding report

KJ,

How did wedding #2 go? We're waiting to hear the details (or are you still busy celebrating the Hawks' Outback Bowl victory?).

Last I heard from Kathyl, she was about to slide her wheelchair into a cave and hibernate. . . or join the Witness Protection Program. She said everybody was married and she was numb. Don't you just know she is? Polly

She's got a bunch of wedding photos up on her Facebook page. Kathyl looks like she had a great time, and the bride was cute as a button.

Didn't look like the cops or the paramedics were there, so it must have gone well. ;-)

Oh, KJ, are we going to have to lock you up and someone come and guard you? Now that you have 'done' your hugely special occasions, can you please just focus on doing little and letting your poor leg heel. I don't think many completely able-bodied people could hop backwards up steps. Hope your tail-bone survived intact. I hope this is the last of the Iowa incidents >g<

*Take care*. . In message , KJ writes

"Little" is about all I've done for weeks! Would you like to come over and babysit me for a couple weeks? :-) I had three men right next to me and helping when I slipped off the step....we were all dumbfounded! I think I'd have made it if my shoe had been dry on the bottom. It takes some concentration, arm strength (I'm getting better) and some coordination to go up steps backwards with a walker. (Someone strong has to hold the walker each step before the "hop".) I think I was lacking in all those departments after being out to the rehearsal dinner. My tailbone is fine......one advantage to being well padded back there. I did bruise my arm a little bit....I probably flung it to catch myself. I'll try to behave for a few weeks more. I promise.

The one good thing about all of this is that your DS, DD and their new spouses are going to have stories to tell for years! I had forgotten about the lousy weather we were having the day of your DD's wedding - if I remember correctly, we were hunkered down inside that day and trying to avoid even *looking* outside, let alone venturing out into it. And I think you were getting it worse than we were (amazing what a difference those 30 miles make!). I'm really glad to hear, though, that in spite of everything, it went relatively well.

Both my niece and nephew were married this year - one in May and one in October (they were 31 and 29 respectively). My niece (the one who married in October) had told me a while ago that she wanted to have her first child by the time she was 30. She eventually changed that to wanting to be pregnant by the time she was 30 since the wedding wasn't scheduled early enough to accomplish her original goal! Her birthday is in March, so time wasn't necessarily on her side. They honeymooned in December, and we asked her if she brought our great niece or nephew back with her. We found out last week that she did (actually, I think she was probably pregnant before they went)! I know it's early and a lot can still happen, but for now, we're jumpin' with joy!

Gosh, Kathyl, no wonder you're still numb! What a day! I do hope the limo isn't the only company contemplating a refund (partial or full) due to glitches that could have been avoided. :S

I think the DJ will be free or severely discounted. I was waiting for the newlyweds to return from their honeymoon before persuing the glitch makers!

But after looking at the pictures, I wish I had! (dieted more)

Yup.....that was the day! None of our CR guests attended, though most of our Dubuque and Chicago friends all made it. Congrats on the new family member (s)!
